Transfering Data from one Xbox One Hard Drive to Another

    Hello,

My Xbox One has recently broken. My Xbox One is completely dead and I am buying a new one. However, I believe the internal hard drive is still intact and I would like to obtain the data from it. I need to find a way to obtain data from an Xbox One hard drive
and to move it onto my new Xbox One.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    :)

    Hi

As long as your console is connected to the Microsoft servers then all of your game saves and digital content will be held on the Microsoft servers and all you will need to do is to re install the games/apps on your console and then the first time you start
a game it will then download the saved data back to your new console.

Yes but I don't save my game saves etc to the servers, all on the hard-drive. The hard-drive is fine, just need to get the data off it.

As long as you did not change this in the console setting all of you game saves should be also held on the Microsoft servers and will re download to the console when you first start the game.

Hello - I need to do this as well. I had changed the setting to store the saves on my local internal drive only so I need to be able to pull it. I can remove the hard drive and I have cables to connect it to a PC, what are the next steps in being able
to access those saves so I can transfer them to the next replacement xbox one hopefully with a USB stick?

most game saves are stored in the cloud and all of your games are available to re-download on the new console after you sign in for the first time. Check out "My Games and Apps" and hit the "Ready to Install" section up. There you will find everything
you've purchased for the One console in the past and can re-install pretty quickly and easily. Good luck!

    Data Transfer Cable

The transfer cable is only meant to transfer data from one Xbox hard drive to another. You would not be able to keep the 60gb connected and use the hard drive like that. The data would have to be transferred to another hard drive.

I have my old XBOX 360 hard drive, and only an xbox one...

The Xbox 360 transfer cable was only for transferring data from one 360 hard drive to another 360 hard drive. There also were several versions of the cable that weren't compatible with each other and would only transfer between specific drives.

    Question About buying a Xbox

The transfer cable is only needed for transferring data from one hard drive to another. So if you were transferring your game saves from your old xbox hard drive, then you would need a transfer cable or flash drive. Otherwise, you can just follow GreyPilgrim's
advice and you'll be all set.

    USB Storage Device problem

The data transfer cable is made to move files from one hard drive to another. It's not made to work with a PC.
