Transfer Storage

Try to transfer some games to the external storage and apply the updates once they have been transferred.

You get 5 Home changes a year. If you've already met that, just wait for it to reset and then you can do it again. As long as you're signed into your account, the console doesn't have to be your Home.

Otherwise, everything else is tied to your account.

Thank you for the reply but what I was concerned with losing is things such as this; Im pretty sure I have ran out of home xbox claims on my account and I have spent a lot of time downloading and organizing mods on skyrim and fallout and would hate to redo that and lose my saves. Maybe what I can do is extract my data off of the hard drive and put it on an external one and transfer that way?

all dependent on what country you are in now as some have adopted right to repair (some small countries only but the rest will follow soon)

as of this summer white goods in the UK must have parts available and be able to be repaired by third parties, give it a couple of years and i expect all devices will be like this too then that will force microsoft to sell spares.
