Transfer saved data from a usb memory unit

That would be true if the data were being transferred from a 360 to a 360. It does not work the same way from a 360 to a One.

To transfer an Xbox 360 save to the Xbox one, you will need to make saves to your cloud storage. You can do so by heading to your Xbox 360 settings. Select your system and go to your storage so that you can access your hard drive and then there should be
an option for games and apps. You can either press Y to copy all of the game's data, or you can press A to go in and manually select the files that you want transferred. Whenever you go to copy a game's data, it will prompt you to select a device to copy it
to. I would assume that you can select the USB, but for the working method I suggest the cloud storage option. After that, you should be able to start up the game on your Xbox One with your Xbox 360 save.

Hello! In this case you will need to upload your save file to the Cloud Drive in you Xbox 360 and then download it on your Xbox One.

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer 360 data through USB. Any purchases can be redownloaded through your Games and Apps once you sign into your account. Any game saves would need to be saved to the cloud and will sync up when you start the
game.

That is half right. A USB flash drive is a great way to take your game saves or gamertag with you to another console. However, the latest
console software lets you store your game saves in the cloud and download your profile to any console. For information about these features,

Copy to a USB flash drive

If you can't connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet, you can copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive and then install it on the console.

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system. For information about how to format a USB flash drive, see the “Format a USB flash drive” section of Using
USB flash drives with Xbox 360.

1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2. Download the update file.
3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
4. Unzip the file. If you're using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).
6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
8. Restart the console.
9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. When prompted, select Yesto update the new console software.
