Transfer save data via transfer cable

Hi, I am going to be buying a 320GB slim edition because my old 120GB has just run out of space. I have a transfer cable that Microsoft sent me years ago for free when I upgraded from my 60GB to my 120GB. These were both external harddrives. I believe the
slim has an internal harddrive, is that correct? Will my old transfer cable work when transferring from my old external HD to the new slim internal HD or will I need a new kind of cable? I haven't bought the system yet, that's why I don't know and I'd like
to find out so I can order a new cable if I need one. Thanks for whoever takes the time to answer my question.

    :)

    Live Account transfer???dodgey

The license transfer only transfers content lisenses. It does not transfer game saves. You would have to use a data transfer cable as suggested or a usb drive to transfer the saves.
