Transfer game saves through and external Hard drive.

Hello,

I want to transfer my game saves data from an xbox one console to another via an external hard drive. I have already formatted an external hard drive to use but I can only manage to copy the install data of game onto the hard drive. Is there a way of getting
just the games saves?

I know you can use the cloud but I don't want to have to rely on always being connected to the internet to access my saves.

As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.

best way to transfer saves from old hd to new hd?

Im trading in my 250gb slim for the gears one on tuesday and was wondering what is the best way to transfer over saves.

I was told in game that i had to use an external hard drive but do i just transfer over my saves from my two profiles or do i need to transfer over the gamertag with them too? i was going to just transfer over the saves to the external hard drive then when
i get the gears xbox download my gamertag and then put the saves off my external hard drive on the new xbox. can i do that?

At the moment, the only data you can transfer from the Xbox One console to an external hard drive are games and apps. As for cloud storage, when you play a game there will always be a copy stored locally on the console. As you retrieve saves from the cloud
and continue playing, a local copy will also be created.

The external hard drive was around 20% full. After the I formatted the external hard drive it went down to 0% as everything was uninstalled. Thing is i tried transfering Battlefield 1 from the internal hard drive to the now empty external hard drive and
it started transferring. Battlefield 1 was one of the games that just stopped installing/transferring when i wanted to move from the internal to the external hard drive so i might of fixed the problem. Now i am just concerned that the games that were uninstalled
will not have anyting saved and i will have lost everything.

System Update Recommend Transferring all game saves and files to external hard drive and using the working internal hard drive as a back up drive that way the game saves and files are portable and you don't lose any data from the internal hard drive.
