Transfer from a broken hard drive

I turned on my Xbox and got "system error. Contact xbox customer support." followed by a little red light on the power button. I've been looking for solutions to the problem and I've done all the trouble shooting I've found. I've come to the realization
that the problem is my hard drive. I've tried it in another xbox and I got the same error. My Xbox works fine without it and I don't have a problem with getting a new hard drive, but I have hundreds of hours of play time on it that i would prefer i don't lose.
Is there anything I can do to transfer my memory to a new one? I read something about taking it apart and putting everything on a USB through my computer, but I'm not sure I'm confident enough with myself for that. Do I have any other options with this?
Is there somewhere I can send my hard drive to get this done or a way for someone who's a little less tech savvy, Or is my memory just gone?

just formatted my hard drive and its still saying unformatted i think my hard drive is broken and needs replacing

if i buy a new hard drive or Xbox do i need a data transfer cable to transfer from hard drive to hard drive?

but at the moment there is nothing on my Xbox hard drive to transfer

 

Just got a new 250 GB slim but my old xbox has the RROD, help

You remove the hard drive from the broken console, plug the transfer cable to the old hard drive and then to the Xbox and everything else is explained on your TV screen. So no you didn't make a mistake.

as far as I know there are no supported options in a situation like this, since the hard drive isn't read by the console there is no way to get to the content.

Some games save progress on their servers, but if the only locations where the save games are was on the hard drive i'm afraid that the data is gone.

Any solution that advises to take it apart or using a PC to get to the data isn't supported and is considered tampering and can results in enforcement actions.

I am a first timer with this so i hope i follow the rules and post on the right place.

My usb stick broke...7.24 gb of game saves gone..

I bought recovery software i recovered 7.24 gb.

On my laptop the map is called FAT32...it has 4 maps in it called; 1- Lost Folders. 2-Raw Files. 3- System Volume Information. And 4- Xbox360.

In the map Xbox360 it has 9 files called Data0000 till Data0008.

The file themselves are called Fil

All the Xbox360 files together are 7.24 gb.

I configurated a hard disk on my console, went back to my laptop, kopied the Xbox360 files to it.

Plugged it into my console but no game saves...

Anyone any idea what i could do? should i convert them first or something? I cant find software that can covert Fil files to FAT32..

I have no knowledge of computers...please help... thank you

Any way of saving or transfering them somewhere to something so that my console recognize them again?

borivoje1979 - In your case, unless you had them backed up to begin with, there is no legit way of recovering the files.

Update everyone! The last update on the console was the bad guy.

My saves are not lost. The update was responsible for not seeing my usb flash anymore.

I erased the last update and tada! ; my device pops up again!

So; thank you microsoft for your ueseless update, thank you for making me buy recovery software and thank you chat- 4 days in a row and 6 chats for not pointing this out to me.

A buddy of mine fixed it just now.
