Transfer DLC, save games etc to my sons gamertag

Hi. My son has played a lot af games using my Xbox live profile. He has his own gamertag and I want to buy a gold membership to him. Can I transfer all his achievements, DLC etc to his Gamertag? or does he have to continue to use
my Gold account to play his previous games?

transfer only a particular gametag's content to a new console

I wish to purchase my son his own 360 and am curious about transferring his gamertag, DLC, saves etc.

We have benefitted from sharing DLC up to now but assume that it will transfer with the gamertag it was purchased with so may need to download extra copies later.

I still have a transfer cable left over from when i upgraded the original HDD can this be used?

As I wish to retain all my data on the existing console I dont think (might be wrong as my wife often tells me) that a transfer cable will work.

Tricky Transfer from one 360 to another read carefully

Ok we have 2 xbox 360's one is an elite with my gamertag, game saves, dlc, etc... the other is my sisters with her gamtertag and her game saves and dlc etc...

This is my second elite and today it just displayed the same exact little fuzzy graphic flicker on the screen that my old one did a couple of weeks before it rlod. So I'm almost 100% sure in month this second elite will rold on me.

Because of this I want to just get rid of my elite and it's hard drive and permanently put my gamertag, game saves and dlc on my sisters arcade console and hard drive. So that both seperate profiles and seperate game saves, dlc, etc... will be on one console,
my sisters arcade one.

Can this be done and how (detailed steps if possible) and will my game saves and redownloaded dlc be playable on my sisters console with my gamertag/profile?

Nothing can be transferred between accounts i'm afraid.

As long as your console is set as the home console,which it should be by default,then you only need one gold subscription which can be shared & your son would have access to all digital content on that console.He would have to restart progress on any games
he's played as saves are tied to the account that created them.

Game data, saves, DLC, etc, can not be transferred from one account to another.

I had the same problem. I did not do the license transfer properly. this is how I fixed it. I deleted the dlc from my hd and redownloaded it. I was then able to acess DLC I bought on my sons gamertag and him on my Gamertag

There are some games that allow you to transfer to another gamertag (very few as a matter of fact) but the problem with that is that you cannot earn achievements with transferred game saves. You or your son would have to start over.

You can use any DLC on all the gamertags on the original console that the DLC was downloaded on. You cannot transfer saves and online stats to a new gamertag.
