Transfer data problems

Hi!

i got a 360 slim and I want to transfer all data from my old 360 original.

i connect my 20gb hd to Microsoft transfer cable (old model), and then to the 360 slim.

Nothing happens. I read I should get a message for transferring data.

if I go to system settings, the hd is not recognised and Xbox ask to format (!!!)

what can I do?

Data Transfer Problems

So, I recently bought a new 360 s and a data transfer cable to transfer the data, of course, from my old HDD. Whenever i plug the cable into the 360, the prompt does not show. i've done it at least a dozen times, following to a "t" the instructions that
are in the manual, and searching the far reaches of the internet looking for the solution. I did notice at the bottom of the instructions it mentioned that if the prompt does not appear, to go into the "storage" menu and manually try engaging it, but i have
no option. I've seen no post regarding this and i was wondering if anybody else had the same issue, or the solution.

I have the exact same problem! This is the only thing I have found with this problem - and no solution!

The only thing I have just noticed is that my transfer cable is not official microsoft - which apparently means it wont work - I will be buying an official one asap and checking that out! Is your cable an official one?

 

Probably an unsupported HDD, I would try another.
