Transfer Cable Won't Work/Popup

Okay so today I got a new HDD. It's a 60GB one. I have a transfer cable but no matter what steps I take be it from this site or from various sites the popup wont come up. I'm not sure if this will help clear anything up but right now my old one is the Halo
3 addition 16GB or whatever. Is there anything I should try doing or am I out of luck? Just to be clear this is the external ones that clip onto the side or top however you have it. Thanks.

Help with Transfer cable

Is it an official Microsoft transfer cable? or a third party transfer cable? If it is a third party cable it won't work properly and could may possibly corrupt your hard drive. I suggest buying an official transfer cable.

Problems using Hard Drive Data Transfer Cable!

Hi, firstly is the cable a genuine Microsoft branded transfer cable, third party cables can cause your hard drives to become unusable as Xbox hard drives.

Should you be asked to configure the drive at any point do not proceed.

So onto the main issue, try powering the xbox off, disconnect the hard drive you're transferring the data from but leave the cable connected to the xbox and power on. When the xbox reaches the dashboard connect the hard drive you're transferring the data
from.

If you still don't get the transfer window open up try another usb port on the xbox and follow the above procedure again.

Games installed from DVD are locked to the storage device and console they were installed to. The install can be copied by the old copy software that came on disc with the old transfer cable, but it won't work afterwards. The built-in software won't even
transfer installed games.
