Trading in 360

I'm planning on getting an Xbox One soon, and am trading in my 360 to fund part of the purchase. Just got a couple of questions before I do:

• Is there anything I need to do with my 360 before I trade it in? I don't want whoever buys my 360 to be able to see my profile, downloads etc. If I delete my profile and all games from the 360 then can anyone get it back?
  
• Similarly, when I recover my profile on the Xbox One what (if anything) is linked to my profile? Can I get games, saves, downloads back?
  
• Are any 360 games backwards compatible on the One? Got some downloads I wouldn't mind keeping The Walking Dead and a few others, Arcade games and so on.

Your Xbox hard drive may contain some of your personal information, and you shouldn't rely on someone else to remove it.

 

Who is waiting on X1 to play bf4?

Before trading in format the hard drive to remove all your content and gamertag from the machine, no one will be able to access it then.

When you recover the gamertag on an xbox one you simply get use of the profile, games saves and downloads dont come across as they are 360 only, if you go back to a 360 at a later date you can re- download your games but saves will be lost.

360 games arent backwards compatible with xbox one

 

Just to add I'm trading in an old xbox 360 elite 120g and Game are offering £50 you also need to include a controller with that, they are also offering £10 on additional controllers. Also Game are offering to beat trade in prices by £1 on game's , I took
a note what CEX were offering and got a lot more than I was hoping for !

 

Thanks. CEX have offered me £56 for the 360 (Slim, 250gb, boxed), and when I include 10 or so games the total offered comes to £105. Might see what Game are offering also.

 

Also if you have games you may go back to on a a 360 you can move the save to cloud storage for use on another xbox.

 

Keep your 360 and get an Xone as well.

 

Hmm, nice idea but I don't really have a use for two consoles. I'm almost done with all the games I have for the 360 and those that I love like Fifa and GTA will have updated versions coming out for the new console.

Plus £100 off a console is always good for the wallet.

 

I would keep the 360 if possible though. Think of all those Arcade games, etc - money down the drain. Not to mention the free Games with Gold every month. Even if you pack it away for a later date, you can still download the Games with Gold games to your
download queue on xbox.com and you'll have a lot of free games to go back to.

But it's your decision of course!

 

My buddy says its well worth keeping a 360 handy simply for its media functions, which aside from blu-ray of course, are much better than what the One offers at the moment.

Run the 360 through the HDMI-in port on the back of the One and you'll have the best of both worlds.

 

Does that really matter for watching videos though?

They'll stay in synch and the only thing you need worry about is seconds pause when...well pausing.

 

Very true. Its just games that have the lag.
