Microsoft to offer Xbox One trade-up program for Project Scorpio

Microsoft wants to make the transition from Xbox One to Project Scorpio as seamless and easy as possible with a trade-in/trade-up program.

If you read the article there is only a small mention of the trade in program.

What this really means is that they are open to offer trade in deals, and promotions with their partners like they have in the past I at this moment dont believe they will have a fixed trade in/up program. However you can look forward to special promotions for transition to scorpio.

This is great news. Hopefully they have some good trade in programs. Xbox Scorpio already looks like it's going to be a beast of a console. It would have been a shame if they didn't offer a way for xbone owners to upgrade. Hopefully Sony has something similar set up for those who want to upgrade to Neo.

 

when i found it i thought, well at least one guy at microsoft is looking in to it, but ill take it with a pinch of salt as the launch xbox one will probably be worth only $50 by 2017 anyway's.

You can bet that at least GameStop will have a trade in deal. I bet they have one for the Xbox One S after the initial launch. But the amount is key. Currently a member can get $100 trade in. So I would expect at least $150 but they could go to $200
like they did before. And then they will have trade in deals near Scorpio. I just wonder, with the S being out, if they will be giving less for the original by then. The S will be the main model at that point. That may mean less trade value for the current
model.

By the Scorpio release I expect the current model to be either A) pretty cheap or B) totally sold and gone. I also expect the trade value to be much lower than it is now. Maybe $50-$70 given the current trade of $100. That might put this original at $100-$125
with a bonus deal. The bonus will be that you have to trade it towards the new model.

I'm sure if it were to happen there will be all kinds of unrealistic conditions/stipulations.
