    Toxic Gaming

There is this 11-year-old kid with Autism that I play with on a variety of games and I am disheartened at how kids and adults can demoralize him. He does have a speech impairment and doesn't quite seem to understand tone differences but is actually a really
good kid and a great player. Players make fun of him all the time and once I step in to stop it, and once they find out I am a female gamer...the toxicity explodes. I have been called so many vial names and harassed to the point that young kids have found
it funny to DDOS me and then the kid and several of his friends consistently sending me game and party invites to the point of not being able to play. One night, while playing Rainbow Six Seige, which is a game I absolutely love and am good at but they kept
getting team killed for just being a girl and they were able to pull my IP address and get my location, making threats of violence- that it got to the point the police were notified.

I have suggested this before but what if Microsoft can create a special feature for certain ambassadors, like the top 100 or Microsoft officials who play games regularly who can give accounts a "timeout" with an obligation to report the conduct to the enforcement teams.
A buffer of sorts since the time of report to the time enforcement is given may take awhile. I have noticed that delayed consequences don't always work, that maybe instant enforcement may be beneficial. Maybe create an "enforcer icon" that notifies an "active"
enforcer to intervene in a toxic situation. As a daily female gamer, and an Xbox ambassador I find the toxicity of the community relentless. What are the communities thoughts on this?

    :)

  2. I'm tired of Smurf accounts and I want my money back.

Unfortunately, This is all online gaming not just Xbox. I recommend reporting and blocking. Now this is usually depending on the type of games you play too. When I play COD of any type holy moly is it toxic at times. If I play survival games such as Ark,
7D2D, No mans sky, ect ect they are not as toxic. You will run into toxic people no matter where you go but Online people tend to act more brave. There are many many people that are not toxic though. I would suggest making some friends on xbox, maybe join
some clubs for the games in which you are playing and get to know some people. I promise not everyone is toxic.

    Toxicity

    Hey there Xbox Fans!

I will be closing this thread as it is linked to a post from over a year ago. You are more than welcomed to start your own, I am pretty sure other gamers would like to bring their ideas into the subject. Toxic Gaming :)

    Thank you! (ノ≥∇≤)ノ

Have you tried creating the idea here:

    Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice

This would allow the community to upvote it if selected. I know they are always looking at ways to further support for toxic players or even to reward efforts against such activity.

I have and just did that again, so I guess we will see what happens. Luckily I have a group of male gamers I play with that step in, in my defense. However, usually, the tone of that toxicity actually changes.

I keep my Xbox Live communication settings to friends only so I don't have to worry about getting negative messages and party invites. As a girl game myself I understand what you mean about the toxicity. If I encounter people trying to troll in game I
just find another server. There will always be those keyboard warriors that think they can do what ever they want.

I did lock my account down a lot however when in a public match and game chat I use callouts (in R6, cod4 and fortnite) to help my team since no one else does (after all, it is a team game) and once they hear that I am a female it seems like everyone now has
mics... then the team killing starts or the messages begin rolling in or the invites are spammed. Last night I was called a[ Mod Removed – Profanity]by a kid and said that girls and moms should be in the kitchen and not on a game.
The down side of the "friends of friends" are usually the toxic ones.

I too have seen this, I have a regular I play The Division with who has a pretty significant speech impediment and when we get in range of rando groups in the Dark Zone they can be quite nasty, which is really annoying as he's a better player (and nicer
person) than 70% of the pick up players I end up with. I like your idea, hope it gets traction so we can upvote.

  9. I think its a great idea. In the meantime I suggest reporting all these players (which you seem to have been doing). If this gets to the voting phase at the Idea Drive I would for sure vote and support it.

    Hiya Becksly,

Thank you for contacting Forum support

I'm sorry to hear about the situation. There can be users who do not follow the code of conduct and troll or mess with others, so I do recommend to report and
block the users who are harassing or threatening you.

Try to adjust your Privacy settings to limit who you are in contact with. (Friends only) so others wont message you.

Privacy and online safety> Xbox live Privacy> View details and customize> then adjust your communication and multiplayer settings to limit who you play with or chat with online.

    Hope this helps.

Im not sure what i am expecting . Here it goes. Im the great grandmother if a nine year old boy , who lives with me. I bought him an xbox not knowing anything about the gaming. This gaming stuff is making me crazy. He is always upset when playing. I thought
it was kids only, its grown men. I hear him begging them to let him play, I hear Im sorry i didnt mean to, i hear him crying, sobbing . When i shut the darn thing off he has a fit. I heart broken that he is obviously addicted to this( i guess )fortnite game?
It is ruining my life. He wont go anywhere or do anything else. Im tired of fighting with him. Is there something i can do? Is there a site for kids only?
