Touro Mobile Pro External Hard Drive

Hi all,

I have recently bought the above hdd to go with xbox one. I'm happy with it, apart from one thing....It seems to stay powered on all the time. I found the option to turn off external drives when powered down, but this doesn't seem to work. Has anyone else
had a similar issue that may be able to help?

External Hard Drive Not Recognized

Hi Jiza1981, you can generally buy cheap cables over eBay.

Kotaku did a great post some time ago regarding drives that will work seamlessly with the Xbox One. I've yet to get a hard drive for my Xbox One but I'm almost out of room (Microsoft just love giving me games! ) so it's time to get one I think!

Anyway, without linking anyone to anything external to this website, Kotaku recommended the following external hard drives;

1TB HGST Touro S 7200rpm Portable External Hard Drive

WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black

WD My Book 4 TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive with Backup

I've never used that Touro brand so I can't comment on them but I've had good experiences with Western Digital and their external hard drive range. Nice and sturdy units!

HDD External Drive - What Do You All Have?

I've got a 1TB Touro Mobile Pro. I got it cos I wanted something fast (it's one of the few 7,200 RPM 2.5" drives available) and powered by USB.

I don't think that 4TB, or even 6TB, is a bad idea, depending on your usage of the console.

 

Is your console set to Instant On ("Xbox On"). If so, then your console is never fully powered down but always in a low power 'ready' mode.

 

Yes it is.....So are you saying the option to shutdown the external device is void if you have it set to instantly on?

That's a shame if true.

 

I got the 3TB version and this is what I Replying to all the Hard Drive question here as this needs to be fixed Please

I got a WD MyBook and I like it, but it doesn't shut down like it does with a computer

I say Xbox needs to make the Xbox One power off USB when you turn the One off

Please fix this issue Xbox
