I was recently DDos attacked during a game on Friday the 13th, a player named [mod removed] basically told me he was going to do it, soon after my character (which was jason starts glitching out i see the network icon permanantly stuck to top left of screen,
i usually record using elgato but wasnt in this instance, I tell him i was going to report him. my internet was off for 3 hours after this happen so unable to post here, i then get a number for microsoft wait on the phone for 20 minutes for a customer service
rep to say "its not possible for someone to get ip address through the xbox", i told him i can look online and see loads of people with this problem and he says "you cant trust random internet sites" i told him "I WAS ON THE XBOM.COM FORUM!!!!!" the call goes
nowhere i hang up, i ring again wait for 20 minute and a guy that is helpful tells me he is aware of problem unfortunately call goes dead, i pressed for all calls to be recorded hopefully the higher ups hear them, anyway im on my 3rd 20 minute wait, actually
its been 23 minutes so thats over an hour and they dont even have the name of gamertag thats hacking their paying customers.

As soon as you encounter players like that in a game, leave immediately and report, block and mute the player. It's best to not communicate back but to report and let the enforcement team handle it.

In regards to the attack. Definitely reach out to your Internet service provider as they will be able to better assist you in that aspect.

Im very sorry to hear you experienced that, its never nice and i hope you can get back to your game with peace of mind.

There is nothing that Xbox can do about a DDoS attack. You will need to contact your ISP for assistance with that.

If this does happen to you the person is hitting the IP assigned by your ISP to your router that is the only public IP you have. Reset your router and hope it receives a new IP from your ISP, most are on a 24 hour "lease". You can contact your ISP as well
for assistance as this can affect them in a small way as well.

Do not engage with players that are taunting you and tell them you are going to report them. Report them and block them so they cannot see if you are online.
