Toshiba canvio ii 1tb hard drive no longer recognized by xbox one since update.

Hello all,

Unfortunately my brand new toshiba canvio ii is no longer being recognized by my xbox one since the latest "experience" update.

I've gone through the external hard drive trouble shooting as per the xbox recommended instruction on this site, and it's still not being recognized.

I had to partition the hard drive to get it to work originally with the xbox. Could it be an issue with the xbox not supporting this device since the new experience update?

Xbox One External Hard Drive Question

I have a 500GB Xbox One, so you can imagine im short or space for games. so i was looking at getting a
Toshiba HDTB330EK3CA 3 TB 2.5-Inch USB 3.0 Canvio Basics External HDD
(URL at the bottom).

Firstly: is it compatable with an Xbox One?

Secondly: if it is, how do i connect the two?

Hi there! I'm not entirely sure if this will help, but sometimes turning the console off, disconnecting the hard drive, and the power cord for 5 minutes, then plugging the power back in and booting the console fully before plugging the hard drive in will
help with issues like this.

 

Try to
FORMAT your external hard drive using a Windows PC with an NTFS file system format.

Plug it back into your console and see if it will be recognized.
