Toshiba 1TB External Hard drive problems MAJOR Stuttering!

I bought a new Toshiba 1TB external hard drive a few months ago - and it was working great, but now I'm getting major stuttering on most of my games. I've tried resetting the Xbox and reinstalling the games - still having that issue. Moved some game to my
internal - now they're working fine. The external hard drive WAS working just fine. I recently installed MKX on the external and completed the story mode without any stuttering . couple weeks later i tried to play a quick tower and EVERY match I had stuttered
before the finish. I was thinking it was the game - so I paid no mind to it . Just got a couple new games last week (Evolve and TWD Season 2) both saved on the external and both had stuttering problems . moved them to the internal - now both work fine.

I finally got The Witcher 3 downloaded - first to the external - stutter stutter - stutter - so I once again moved it to my internal.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? really bugging me out.

my internal is at 93% and i only have like 20gb left.

PS: Halo MCC is on the external and works fine

1TB USB 3.0 external drive not working

Merry Christmas!

So, for a present, I got a Toshiba 1TB external hard-drive. It's USB 3.0 (which is also USB 2.0 compatible) so it meets all the requirements. But it gives me only 976Gb of media storage?

If anybody has solutions/reasons as to why it doesn't work, I'll be very appreciative.

 

"External Storage Ready" notification repeatedly, Crashes current game

i have a toshiba 1TB portable Hard Drive connected it is USB 3.0. My xbox keeps notifying me that "External Storage ready" and also crashes my game just before that happens

 

could be a fault with the drive or external caddy controller, as it is a few months old i would return for replacement.

First try changing the USB 3.0 cable to see if that works, heard of some just going faulty after a few months.

 

okay. Hopefully it's the USB 3.0 cable because I'm not looking to replace it (reinstalling everything would suck).

Might just be a bad drive.

 

Next time you should go for Western Digital.

 

It has been formatted. Going to get another 3.0 cable and hopefully that might fix it - if not I'm going to try and replace it.

 

yeah i should of got a WD - will do next time.

ive seen problems online with Seagate - still better then this garbage. That what happens when u read an article that says "ultimate xbox one accessories" haha.

 

Is anyone having a good experience with an external hard drive?

 

I am, no issues, western digital 2tb passport = flawless so far, being using it for nearly 7 months, also seagate are a nightmare since they were took over by maxtor, or the other way round, their drives get the constant click of death.
