[/quote]Well said. Others might look at that post as cry hardish but he who tries and fails while not settling for the best, simple, and easy to do the job understand. What is success if you never test yourself.

 

I think its pointless to suggest people use the "harder" weapons rather than the "easy" ones simply because they dont all work the same for everyone.



For example , the type 95 in mw3 was labelled op, but for me it was suicide. I just couldnt get the kills with it, but the m16 was great for me, and most people said what a pos it was. The famas was another one that I hated using.



I never cared for most of the so-called op weapons over the years. I think the ump in mw2 was about the only one I liked. Oh , yeah,.... and the pp90. ... Everyone is different, and different weapon characteristics make a particular weapon beasty in
one person's hand and crap in another's.



Things like accuracy and damage at different ranges make a big difference depending on playstyle. Direction of recoil has also been a big issue for me. I'd prefer a weapon with a lot of straight up, or back-and -forth recoil over one with minimal recoil
all to one side. The way you see your character carrying a weapon I think makes a big difference too. Some weapons just automatically make me ads low just because of the way it appears while at the hip.

I agree with stuff like this: the little things that make a weapon what it is and it's the small things that matter, not the stats and obvious go-to aspects of a weapon that draw me to specific ones. However, that doesn't mean that the MP7, with its 40-bullet
clip, hyper-accuracy, limited recoil and full SMG mobility and handling is balanced with the rest, whether you can use it or not.

 

That depends on what you consider balance.



Going back to the m16/type example. For me to say I'd 1v1 someone with me using the m16 and them using the type, imo would make a fairly even match ...... and when I consider balance, I think of 2 players in an even match.



If the type95 was the weapon for both of us, I'd consider myself at a disadvantage. If the weapon was the m16 I'd consider myself at a distinct advantage. .... As a matter of fact, for me to suggest we both use the m16 would be flat out douchebaggerey
on my part.



While I can understand your point about the actual stats of a weapon over another, you have to take into account the human factor. If both of us using the exact same weapon puts one of us at an advantage over the other, that's no more balanced than one
using a better weapon.

 

For SMG's I normally don't mind if they are called OP or not. They are something to use and I've been one to try and be fair to all guns in the COD's I've played. Since we're talking about the SMG I'll mention that.

Everyone in BO was running with the AK, at least the majority. I found that the Spectre, Kiparis and MPL were pretty good instead (mainly the Spectre) I didn't really have a favorite in MW3 though I made a fun class with the PM-9 using EC, Assassin and DS
with that blue-ish looking revolver and tac knife. Small, handy and stealthy.

For me, it's how a gun "feels" that draws me to it. Also it may be the sound the gun makes.

I've seen some people beast with the PPSh, but the mp40 was noob friendly. Recoil was manageable, hip fire was great, very high damage, slow rof which made clips last longer, ect. Mix in a little lag and a decent player who hipfires and strafes side to
side and it was bad news. I think the recoil and/or muzzle flash on the ppsh made it too difficult to use for the average gamer to use.

 

W@W-MP40, MW2-UMP, BO-AK74U, MW3-PP90, BO2-MP7, Ghost-undecided, and these are my favs.

 

@CODukes4 - I see your point and thats a fair way to look at mp40 vs PPSh. Also, I don't think you get the ppsh until you're at 80? It has a tiny clip so you need decent aim abilities, Unlike the Mp40, Spray and pray isn't effective. Once you're tuned in
with it though, it's a killer smg imho.

 

^^The Thompson and Type 100 were great too. Nothing was as versitle as the MP40, but they were really good.

 

the first SMG i used in a cod game was the MW2 UMP

i liked it silenced --- akimbo -- red dot --- rapid fire

the only thing it lacked was the OHK ability lol

 

The UMP was also my first SMG in a CoD game too, back in MW2

 

I just remebered, Black Ops and the MPL. Possibly my most preferred SMG of all.

 

MP40 is objectively the best SMG.

 

Chainsmokingbob what is your k/d in ghost? With all those lean kills and stuff you must have taken a hit on your k/d.

 

MP40 had SMG versatility and movement, the largest magazine/drum capacity, and was a two hit kill anywhere on the body and even a one hit kill headshot. The MP7 was not a one hit kill. The MP40 was also unlocked at like level 19 or something very low, the
MP7 was like level 70 or something I think.
