Top 5 Awful/Heartbreaking/BS Moments (Possible Spoilers)

Dom Finding maria before having to pop her in the head... followed by Dom actually going in Gears 3 devastated

 

Top two for me as well iBakez! Another classic moment was Spec Ops The Line, anyone who has played it will know the moment, the good god what have I done? one, brilliant. Have to go with Mordin Solus next as another "noooooooo" moment.

 

Always Spec Ops Genchy! But a good one no doubt

 

Most of mine are mentioned already, but.

Dom's wife: GOW 2 (even my wife happened to get caught up in the cinematic moment... when the shot went off she said "OMG... what did he just do?")

Dom: GOW 3 (even though I saw it coming)... the way they did it... and damn them for that music! Pianos do tend to make my eyes water... really...

Cortana: H4

Mordin Solus: Mass Effect 3 (never thought I'd be so immersed in a game that the smoke filled room at the top of that tower would burn my eyes?...)

Emile: Halo Reach... In a way, I'm a little surprised this one isn't mentioned yet. That whole scene with Emile grappling with the Elite, screaming at him the entire time. "Are you ready!?... I'm ready!" It just defined the whole concept of what a Spartan
is and stands for.

OK, now that someone else has mentioned it being a bit depressing... I'd like to end my post with a rare moment that I don't see often enough. A real feel good moment that certainly didn't seem like it would end up as such.

It's a Mass Effect 3 moment, Shepard's mission with Aralakh squad. I was so... so convinced that Grunt had just sacrificed himself to save Shepard and his/her crew, I almost quit playing the game. I was literally that upset [Shepard had suffered enough already
by then, I thought]. When I saw Grunt staggering out of the hive, covered in blood, I got that tingling feeling I very rarely get. It was so awesome, I literally jumped out of my chair with joy. And in doing so, I must have jumped up more quickly than I thought,
because the air rushing past my eyes made them watery...

 

A Blue Illusion, that Grunt scene was terrific. Although for some, he may not have made it out. Very climactic moment. And it was great! "I am KROGAN"!.

LoL, and yeah, jumping up really fast can get the eyes watering.

 

FFX - he was a summon :/

FF7 - Aeris

MW2 - Ghost, such a cool guy, had a nice mask, really liked him as a character, damn you shepard!

Tenchu 1 - Rikimaru, least it was an heroic death but still he died and i was guttered

MGs - I dunno why but Sniper Wolf, that whole little scene of her lungshot had me welling up and after i felt bad like what did i just do Also i spose as a 6th tho its 5, Gray Fox aswell, he went out in style but i felt bad he died, another very cool
character

 

LTA Soldier, that Tenchu one is a good one. Also in Wrath of Heaven that was tough to watch, but he pulled through like he always does. Rikimaru is awesome

 

There's been a lot, it's hard to pick 5 off the top of my head but the entire opening sequence of Last of Us just got to me recently.

Yes, the bad ending on Heavy Rain (PS3) was just awful. I just about cried. I felt so bad that I had to replay the darn game to try for a different ending. It was just too distressing to leave it as it was. Once I got a happier ending, I could finally
put my controller down and go on with my life.

I know there were others that upset me a bit but I can't think of any off hand that upset me as much as Heavy Rain did.

 

Oh yeah....when I had the bad, bad, bad ending in Mass Effect 2 and I desperately searched the net for a way to go back, but I couldn't because of some poor decisions I had made.

OMG, how could I have forgot about the terrible ending I got in Dragon Age: Origins. Quite upsetting.

 

Dragon Age, no doubt can punish the player by it's choices, I think more so than Mass Effect. I look forward to Dragon Age Inquisition BizarroMantis.
