I've the same problem! I've had to re add myself to the family gold. quite dissapointing. yes, I have to wait a few days until it's complete.

Despite the time table given to us by MSFT, it appears that the Family Gold has not yet been disbanded and converted (I still display as a Family Gold Member). You may wish to have the primary Family Gold account holder add you back, though this may require
you to wait a few days as normally you must wait 5 days to re-add somebody that you remove from Family Gold. Then, wait until you are sure that the accounts have been converted (again, you'll need the primary account to check the status using the family tile
in the settings tab) to promote your acount again.
