"Too Many Requests" Login Error – Suspected IP Restriction Issue

    Hello Microsoft Support,

I'm encountering a recurring issue when attempting to log into my Microsoft account. Each time I try to sign in, I receive an error message stating that there have been "too many requests." The only way I can successfully log in is by using a VPN, which leads me to believe this may be related to my IP address being flagged or restricted.

Here are some additional details that may help in diagnosing the issue:

    • I have already changed my primary alias/email address and deleted the previous one, but the issue still persists.
    • I don’t recall the exact time this problem began, but I noticed it started occurring shortly after I purchased a domain through Namecheap and began using their PrivateEmail service.
    • I configured my Microsoft Outlook to redirect incoming emails from my PrivateEmail address (associated with my Namecheap domain) to my Outlook inbox. I'm not sure if this setup may have contributed to the problem.
    • This error appears consistently unless I use a VPN, regardless of device or browser.
Could you please investigate if my IP address or region has been flagged, and if so, what steps I can take to resolve this? I would also appreciate any insight into whether my email redirect setup may be triggering this behavior.

Some third-party services like Voicemod are still tied to my previous email (*** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***). I attempted to re-add this address as an alias to help restore access to those services, but I received this error:

"This email is part of a reserved domain. Please enter a different email address."

I no longer have access to that address as it's been deleted from my Microsoft account. I'm unsure how to regain control over services that still use that email as their login or recovery method.

Is there a way to recover or temporarily restore my old alias to help me access linked third-party accounts? If not, is there a way to transfer or verify ownership for services that are still using that address?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,
    [Kuzune Miko]

too many request issues with email

    Hi Osvaldo,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues logging in to your Microsoft account. This may be due to a network issue at the time the login request is sent.

Please try to "Sign out everywhere" your Microsoft account. Try to use a different device such as your smartphone and disconnect from your current Wi-Fi and use your mobile data during this process:

Sign in to your Advanced security options on your Microsoft account security dashboard.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2253707

Scroll down to Sign out everywhere and select Sign out.

Once done, give it few minutes to update across all Microsoft servers before trying again.

Note: Sign out may take up to 24 hours.

    Regards,

    Alvaro

Error code 429- too many requests

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

I would like to clarify, is this happening with every website where you're trying to stream a video or only for a specific one?

Too Many Requests error when logging in

Hi, my name is Julian and I'm an Xbox gamer just like you. Let's try to solve your issue together.

The "Too Many Requests" error usually means there were multiple rapid login attempts, triggering a temporary block on the account.

    Please try these steps:

    1) Wait it out. The block is usually temporary (up to 24 hours). Avoid repeated login attempts during this time.

    2) Clear cache/cookies or try a different browser/device.

    3) Use the correct recovery path: If you're not resetting the password but recovering access, use this link: https://account.live.com/acsr

    4) If the recovery form fails, Microsoft support won’t be able to override security protections, but you can also check: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-pro...

Please let me know if it worked or not and I would be happy to assist you further. Thank you!
