Too early to judge GWG

I brought my Xbox One before GWG started, so I consider GWG offerings to be free. If Microsoft stopped giving away free games I would happily continue my Gold subscription.

 

Pretty much agree with BHC Bluez n 2z. Games with Gold had not started on Xbox One when I bought it. I didn't buy Xbox Live for free games. I bought it because it's a service I believe delivers good quality to its customers and I want to support that my
wallet.

 

Does anyone remember the leaked E3 stuff from a month or 2 back which had an idea what GwG would be with XB1?

I'm pretty sure it said something about a rotation of games, so maybe in 2 weeks they will take down Max & put up something new. Then 2 weeks later take down Guacamelee & then put up something else.

So every game gets a months worth of time but we still get a new game every 2 weeks.

What's to judge the games are FREE

 

I'm thankful for the program as I have the chance to play games that I might not have otherwise. Sure some of them have been ones that I'm not interested in, but it's not about me at the end of the day. The games that I have from the program have pretty
much paid for the cost of my Gold sub and then some, so I'm pretty happy with things.

Free is free, be happy.

 

If the games are free then why do you need to pay a subscription to get them?

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning in the slightest the value they add to the Gold subscription, but in the end you are still paying a fee to access them. It is my understanding that if you stop paying, then you lose access to the games.

That to me doesn't say free but rather extended rental.

 

It's not too early to judgement GWG. The library might be small, but that hasn't stopped the competition from offering two games a month, usually brand new releases. It's cool having two program that offer me games as a bonus, even if I don't have time to
finish them all. GWG is going in the right direction, there needs to be bigger discounts on digital titles.

 

@Biscuitz you need to pay the fee because it adds value to the subscription. If they just gave everyone free games whats the point?

I really agree with your discovering new games point. After playing Charlie Murder, I found two other games made by the same developer that seem pretty good. And after playing Street Fighter IV, I am now more open to fighter games. I've never really been
into fighters, but after playing Street Fighter IV, I'm much more interested.

Since these games are part of a subscription, one you need to pay for, they are in fact not free. Rather they are part of a 'bundle deal' the fee provides.

 

I disagree maybe if we always got free games with the sub. This is relatively new program and I consider a bonus. I would and have payed for gold without free games. So any free game is great and as the library gets bigger for x1 sure we'll get some decent
titles.

 

I'd give up the free games for 75-80% discounts on top tier games instead.

 

I would think by fall that the GwG will be more satisfying. July's release is, well, not my style. MS can not make everyone happy all the time, some games are going to be great, some not so much... it is costing nothing extra to participate in the GwG if
you have a Gold membership, so I cant see what the stink is. I guess some people were expecting big names to released.... TF, Watch Dogs......
