Tomb Raider corrupted save.

I was playing Tomb Raider earlier in the day. I had to go out, so I went to a campfire, waited for the "saving" icon to disappear, and quit the game from the menu before turning off my console. I get home tonight and pop in the game intending to pick up
where I left off. When I load up the game, all I get is a frozen black screen. It looks like I can see some faint shadows outlining where Lara is standing and some of the surrounding environment. I've tried loading up the game several times with the same results.
I'm currently at 78% complete and if my game is just completely gone, I'm going to rage very hard and probably break things. Anyone else had this issue?

Xbox One Achievements won't Unlock

More testing because this issue is so minut it's annoying. Downloaded a friend's profile to my Xbox, ran the test (rise of the tomb raider: reading the past). Earned the achievement in minutes. Annoyed as hell about now and ponder what could be corrupted
only on my account on my specific Xbox. Idea hits, the"cloud" is the constant across the board (achievement server and save server). I went to my save for Rise of the Tomb Raider and deleted it from the console/ cloud services. Ten minutes later and I FINALLY
AM ABLE TO EARN "READING THE PAST". I will continue further testing across all games with and without wiping cloud saves. If my issue persists I'll post about it.

rather they remake the first one in 1080p, only thing about the new tomb raider i liked was the longbow and the multiplayer with its traps n the long bow lol

All i wanna do when i play tomb raider is raid dangerous trap strewn tombs and spend 4 days with my mind boggled at the worlds most basic puzzle, take me back the brutal tomb raiding days, save crystal n a t rex lool If it weren't for Lara i'd be getting
muddled up these days between Tomb Raider and Uncharted there slowly becoming the same game :/

 

Not yet, maybe the game itself is corrupted, maybe try deleting it and reinstalling?

 

Damn, that really blows. I haven't ran into that issue, but I'm also not as far as you are.

I got a black screen last night during gameplay. I reloaded the last point and that seemed to fix the issue for me.

 

I let the game reinstall over night and checked this morning. The problem still persists. I'm pretty sure the issue is with the cloud. There is a stupid unnecessary risk of this happening every time a game forces you in to using a single save slot. Now all
my progress is gone and I'm not even sure if I want to start over.

 

You only get one slot for saving?? Wow, that blows...

 

There are 3 different slots. But they are used for 3 different playthroughs. You pick which one you want to use and it autosaves there for the entire game.

 

You've also had problems with the achievements as well.



Maybe this is related.

 

After reading this thread, I discovered you can actually create a "copy" of your valid save file by choosing "change save slot" from the options menu. Pick a new slot and it will overwrite it with your current progress. Alternating slots periodically in
this manner will guarantee that you always have a valid backup save. Doing this is commonplace in PC gaming, but is extremely rare in console gaming.

 

Sounds like GTA 5 cloud issues. This is why i rather my games/updates etc to be saved on the HDD than a cloud.

 

Just happened to me... Tried everything that people have suggested and nothing worked. SO *** off. I have to start from the very beginning of the game and I was past the beach. I don't understand why they haven't fixed this problem yet. The majority of these
comments are from February! Why has this not been fixed?
