I put in a disc for GTA 5 but hhalf way through installing, I was told I need to buy it again!!

Hello Sophia,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are being asked to purchase Grand Theft Auto V when you are installing it on a disc. We recommend cancelling the installation and installing the game offline. We have a support article
that explains
how to install a game while offline. This will allow the console to install the game through the license on the disc while the console is offline. Then you take the console online and finish installing any updates. Be sure to let us know the results Sophia!

As long as you're signed into the same account that purchased it, you should be able to redownload it from your Games and Apps without repurchasing it.

Unfortunately there is no refund for the game you have already purchased. You can try talking to xbox support:

support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

but I don't think they will be able to help you. Good luck, anyhow

Hmm. How odd. Five minutes after posting this, I was suddenly able to access the story mode without being told I had to purchase the game that I already own. Weird.....
