    To what measure is a cable box?


    I get cable through a university. It uses a Zband GigaBob that gets cable through CAD6 I believe. Cable goes from the wall, to the bob, and then to the TV with a coaxial cable. No HDMI involved and it doesn't appear as a supported brand of cable box. If
    I use a Hauppauge or iView tuner that supports QAM cable, will I be able to run it through the Xbox and use one guide?

    If not, what would I need to make this happen?

    I see,well I have seen faulty cables cause the error you are having so if you want to find out if it really is a fault with the Xbox or a cable as a temporary measure you'll have to relocate your Xbox close to the router and use a different shorter cable
    to see what happens,or.. take the Xbox to a friends and try it on their set-up

    XBox One Memory Shortage

    I'll explain so since the os is based off Windows the os measures space in a different format it doesn't measure it in gigabytes I forget what it measures it in but anyways so you still have 1tb there isn't a memory shortage

    Sound cuts out????

    The cable out of the BOX is only one of two required HDMI connection, though. There should be an HDMI connecting the XBOX One to the Cable Box (I used the included cable for this) and an HDMI connecting the XBOX to the Television (I used my existing HDMI
    connecting TV to Cable for this).

    I am going to try buying the highest quality HDMI cable I can find from Best Buy and will see if it makes any difference. It would also be a good idea if someone has a second TV they can connect and measure if the problem persists. If neither of these
    things fixes the issue I think it's time for an exchange.

    I am sure you hooked the cables in correctly, but what is wired to what? (like Cable box HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV). Did you see your make/model listed under the 'enter it' option? Is the cable box in an open area to allow the IR blasting to hit the cable box?

    Hello Paul, by your description it's very difficult to know what could be going on but it seems to be something on your wall plate.

    If when connecting the console directly with another cable it works normally, the ideal is to ask for some kind of technical visit that can measure the conductivity of your cable that you used previously, there are appropriate equipment that can electrically measure the HDMI cable, or any other type of cable you are using.

    Update makes TV app 480p on start up

    I have a similar problem. My pass through TV signal comes out as a lower smaller image (like a letter box but with black all around it like a photo frame)

    It could be 480 I guess I have not measured it.

    I can stretch it to fit in the Xbox settings, but its scaled and doesnt look good (not HD quality) and if do scale it up the menus from the cable box are too big and run off the edges of the screen.

    I havn't done much troubleshooting yet (I leave my cable box on all the time and I dont have the Xbox turn it on or off)

    STB is a Motorola/Comcast HD DVR box

    TV is an Olevia 720p LCD

    STB ---> HDMI cable ---> Xbox ---->HDMI cable ----> TV

    No other connections.
