To use a PC to edit your Xbox Live profile it needs to be Windows 8?

I find that to be extremely dumb, and shortsighted.

I know people have to upgrade sometime, but THIS? . . .

I see all of the options to edit your profile that you have listed at the top of this forum, but I don't have those.

Well, I still have a 360, yes, but it doesn't have a keyboard.

And I have a quite capable PC running Windows 7, which does have a keyboard, and a mouse, but I can't use that because it's Windows 7 . . .

I know this is going to fall on deaf ears, but the words Unnecessary, Frustrating, and Disappointing come to mind.

I can't change my gamer picture

You can change your gamerpicture through the guide meny on a Games for Windows - Live game:

support.xbox.com/.../edit-games-for-windows-live-profile

Changing gamertag.

You would have to change it through Games for Windows Live. You can find the instructions on how to do that here -

Using Xbox 360, you can go to setting>>profile>>edit profile>>then you can update your information.

That link wasn't working (I swear!) the day I originally made this post and read the Windows 8 stuff.

And, yes, the 360 works as well.

so doing this:

Windows 8 device (laptop, tablet, PC)

1). Launch the Games app that is preinstalled with the Windows 8 OS. No need to download this app from the app marketplace.

2). Scroll to the left where your avatar stands and select the "Edit Profile" option.

3). Make the desired changes to your profile, click "Save" and you're good to go!
