• Log into Support.Xbox.com
  
• Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
  
• Step 1: Choose the category - Xbox or Xbox on Windows 10
  
• Step 2 : Ask a question
  
• A new window will pop up
  
• Type in contact Support -
  
  • you will receive different options, such as:
    
  • Message with an Xbox Gamer
    
  • Call me back ***
    
  • Ask the Community

Okay so it seems you need to add the controller with serial number to your microsoft products at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ . You can then process the replacement. It was a really easy process and there is no repair but as it is in the 2 year
warranty period is a straight replacement. Hopefully this one works.

Xbox One S controllers have a 90 Day Warranty period.
