TiVo Roamio Plus HDMI handshake fails nearly every time -not HDMI cable issue

The handshake between my TiVo and my Xbox One fails nearly every time we turn on the system. I have to re-seat the cable multiple times for it to actually work. This is not a case where turning things on and off again fixes anything. I've swapped out cables
from different brands and of different qualities. Including using the cables that came with my original Xbox. It is not a cable issue or a seating issue. I'm about to just ditch using the Xbox One for TV watching because of this problem. There are no issues
with other Xbox apps and the TiVo works properly when connected directly to the TV. I have even sent in my Xbox One and they changed it for a different piece of hardware and sent it back (minus my Day One box - still ticked about that). This seems to be a
software issue. Any solution out there?

    :)

I have a TiVo Roamio with my local cable co and have no audio along with misc HDMI error messages. Disconnecting the XBoxOne fixed the problem. It's definitely an XBox issue from an update this week.

HDMI handshake issues after lasted update 6.2.11271.0

Tivo Roamio Pro connected to XBone. i am having HDMI handshake issues after the latest update 6.2.11271.0. Turning XBone ON and Tivo thinks i am trying to steam to an unauthorized device due to copyrighted material on my Tivo. a hard reset of XBone fixes
this issue, but then, sometimes i have video but no audio. "Xbox Turn Off" then wait and "XBone On" usually fixes both Video and Audio issues.

all HDMI devices are routed through a Pioneer Elite SC-07 receiver.

also "XBone On" has become a hit or a miss.....

Hey there, chariel! Can you be a bit more specific about the issue that you're having? What are you seeing? Are you getting any error messages?

If you are getting an HDCP error, this is a known issue and the proper team is working on it right now.

I am sorry to see that this issue cropped up for you. Post back and let me know what's going on! We'll see if we can get you sorted out. TiVo Roamio Plus HDMI handshake fails nearly every time -not HDMI cable issue :D

I get "We've lost your TV signal". It is exactly the same message that you'd get if you really didn't have the HDMI cable connecting the two devices plugged in at all. Unplugging the HDMI cable from the Xbox and reseating it solves the problem. But the
odd thing is that sometimes a reboot will fix it. When I reseat the cable, it's not that it's come loose or anything. It just seems that my Xbox needs to see the TiVo again as a new connection.

  6. Thanks so much for your reply, chariel! From what I understand, this is similar to the HDCP issue that I've been tracking. Is it happening when you turn on the system as a whole, or when your console is set to Instant On? If you console is set to Instant
On, can you disable that and try again? Let's see where we can go from there. TiVo Roamio Plus HDMI handshake fails nearly every time -not HDMI cable issue :)

I also have a similar problem.

    Symptoms:

When I start my xbox one, either the TV may be blank, and no audio, or... I see the XBOX screen but by Tivo displays message that the HDCP has failed and the channel cannot be displayed. If I "xbox turn off" my xbox and turn it back on, it almost always
fixes the problem. This happens maybe 50 percent of the time, where either the xbox has a problem with the Tivo input, or I get no audio and picture at all on my TV. It is actually quite irritating.

Things I have tried to resolve:

I have tried getting all new HDMI cables (higher quality but Amazon Basics brand). Problem persisted.

    Things I have NOT tried:

    Bypassing my AV Receiver.

Bypassing my XBOX one (however did not have the problem when I did not have XBOX One and just had 360)

Things in common to both the TiVo and TV not showing a signal is the XBOX One.

    Connections:

TiVo Roamio Pro <-> HDMI <-> XBOX ONE <-> HDMI <-> Onkyo AV Receiver <-> HDMI <-> Samsung TV

I apologize. I don't have the model of my Onkyo and Samsung handy. However, since the problem is pretty intermittent, I doubt it is some overreaching compatibility problem, but certainly could be something flaky in their handling of HDCP handshakes.
