Titanfall will never be what CoD was IMO

they need to be sensible with the perks etc and not go insane with them like cod has which is why cod is so unblanced and has been for the last few years

 

Titanfall being made by ex infinity ward developers people will always compare these 2 games sadly.

For me it feels different enough, imo the only resemblance to the Call of Duty games is it's a FPS and that's it. It's something new and should be treated as such, it's got its own identity and shouldn't be compared to other games.

I'm GLAD it's not like CoD. Because CoD is everything that's wrong with FPS these days. The whole point is it's cut down to the basics of necessity and it's all about fun gameplay. Not who has which weapon skin and one of 200 weapon combinations.

 

The OP is correct because "Call Of Duty" never had giant robots.

 

In response to the title of this thread I sure hope so. Titanfall should be Titanfall and not Call Of Duty.

 

IMHO, provided MS doesn't try to buy the IP/studio I can see Titanfall putting a tremendous amount of pressure on COD to make a better game.

And to anyone who laughs at Titanfall and says it isnt next gen because its only 6v6 you are silly. COD is 6v6 and features what 2 game modes of 9-9? Yeah that screams next gen.

 

imo I hope it does kill call of duty but like sumone said no games kills one game. I love tf imo I hate single player games and I only buy games to play online. tf is its own unique game but far better than cod because its so much harder to camp in this
game. u don't have sumone always sittin in a corner or layin on the ground.

 

Maybe I'm way out of the loop, but I have never met anyone that bought Call of Duty solely for single player and that's it. Same goes for Battlefield 4. With that said, you are right. This game doesn't have single player in it. And I don't think that
single player was ever one of the things that they are trying to accomplish with the game. Also I don't think it's needed either.

And I agree with any new title there will be some "growing pains" but to be honest I don't think there will be many for TF. Since you mentioned Killstreaks, I prefer the burn cards to killstreaks any day.

Also to compare the sales of CoD BO2 to TF is a bit unfair. You are comparing a franchise which EVERYONE knows and has years of exposure. TF comes from the same group that made the CoD franchise and is trying to break into new waters, and breathe life
in a genre that is showing serious signs of fatigue (imo). IW didn't sell 11 million copies of CoD 1, so I don't see why anyone would expect TF to. I will agree the player customization is limiting, and needs to be a little more elaborate on the next one
(or DLC perhaps??). The 6v6 is prefectly balanced imo. By putting anymore in there would make it a cluster bomb. While I like playing games where there are lots of people in them, having TF with more than 6v6 would be too much. More isn't always better.
I'll take quality over quantity any day.

In the end no one can see the future. In my opinion I think Repawn took what they learned from IW in what made games fun and built upon that foundation while trying to evolve the genre a bit. Will there be some growing pains? Probably. Will there need
to be some tweaking!? Oh you bet. If they stay true to form like they have in the past. They will take what has worked best in this game, coupled with what people have really enjoyed and improve upon it with TF2. Will TF out sell CoD in it's hay day? Don't
know the answer to that question since TF hasn't hit its "hay day" yet.

 

New companies are eager to impress. Expect to see new modes, and weapons before too long. And I expect free additions of Custom matches and private matches.

 

I have no interest in Titanfall due to it being yet another FPS game where you run around and mindlessly shoot people. (Sorry) I have nothing against the people who enjoy these games, I just feel they've run their course.

I just wanted to comment, because I thought it was amusing that the OP used past tense when referring to the Call of Duty franchise.

Titanfall is not the CoD killer, but it will sway some people away from CoD. There are a lot of great games coming this year and Sledgehammer/Infinity Ward/Treyarch will have to innovate the next Call of Duty game or the decrease
in sales will continue.

 

After watching a titan t bag a pilot he just killed i'd have to argue with the main op's statement.

I bought the last two Modern Warfare titles and Black Ops solely for the single player story.
