    Everything that is happening on these consoles now reminds of the pc power battles of the last 15 years. "Nvidia is better, no AMD is better" or "I get better fps than you" or "my res is higher than yours". It's so funny to see this going on on consoles.
    Last gen was never about resolution or fps! Yes there were comparisons but nothing like the pixel wars going on today. Extremely funny actually.

  2. Well to be fair, I think it shows the immaturity of some of the sony fan base on the internet. None of them cared about resolution or power or anything for the past 10+ years because MS systems always had more power and ran games better, Not for a few months
    they have had the multiplats that ran better after 10+ years of having them run worse, and they run around gloating like its some amazing feat.

    Yup. Resolution and framerate are perfectly legitimate points of debate, especially when there is an obvious and definite disparity between the consoles, but it has gotten largely out of hand. Ya can't hide from it Titanfall vs wolfenstein news :D

    Exactly. BF4 struggles on PS4 just as much. I have both consoles, and sadly, I have BF4 for both because most of my friends play BF4, a lot. I can say the difference is minimal, and that PS4 never runs at a consistent 60 FPS. I can't even remember the last
    time I was running steady for more than 10 seconds.

    I'm like you, give me a solid frame rate if the resolution has to suffer.

    Plus if a game looks great, but plays like crap, you're not going to care for it anyway.

    Wolf while I can agree with some if what you say. In my eyes, if resolution and framerate are of huge concern then consoles really aren't the place to be. Whether the ps4 has more power than the x1 or not is irrelevant considering that both consoles are
    already old tech. I was just reading that it's rumoured that the witcher 3 is going to be running 900p on ps4 and only 720p on xbox one. Both will be running 30fps. Now I'm not trying to compare. My point is that even the ps4 is struggling with some of the
    newer games. Will this make the game any less enjoyable. Definitely not. I'd be happy if all games ran at 720p, as long as they are smooth and have more graphical detail. If consoles were about power I would just stick to my pc running BF4 on ultra, 1080p,
    60fps. Which is better than both consoles. The reason I chose xbox one has nothing to do with power. It's all about games and most importantly, friends!

  6. That's why I laugh at any Sony fanboy bragging about power, because in terms of gaming, the PS4 is still just an average outdated system.

    I also laugh when they say the software and UI is on par with Xbox. It might be a problem with just mine, but my PS4 will never load the Store on the first try, and I often have to sit there for 2+ minutes waiting for the store to load. Plus it just lags
    and freezes on me if I play a game. I can start BF4, close the application, and then nothing will load, I just sit there looking at the loading circle until I restart my PS4.

    Bf4 runs at 720/60 on X1 and i am happy with it, but the game is way more demanding that Titanfall and it is not even an exclusive nor using the cloud, so what is titanfall limitation.

    Now as previously said that Respawn using old engine, but seems that newer engines are having more difficulty to reach 1080/60

    Until I see the full game in action I can't be sure exactly why the game isn't running at 1080, but one reason is likely due to what graphical bells and whistles Respawn put into the game. Developers have to balance out what graphical "parts", if you will,
    they want to put into the game with resolution.

    So, let's simplify it: do you put in a lovely lighting model, or do you opt for the higher resolution? Many people tend to confuse resolution with how good a game looks. While it's obviously important, it's just one of many things that go into making a title
    look purdy. Titanfall could easily run at 1080, but it might not actually look better, it'd just be sharper.

    When forced to choose, most developers tend to go with the bells and whistles over the pure resolution. This may be the case with Titanfall, but again until we see the full game it will be hard to tell.

    Choices and game design.

    Why on PC BF4 or COD are limited with a 5-8 hours solo campaign,why not 64 players on COD MP....

    Why not just have one FPS MP,instead of having different online FPS.

    Respawn choose to have 6vs6 players plus AI ,always online,ect....Those are their choices.Not limitation.

    However this is not the point here, i am not arguing about why 6v6 or etc.. This is cool the game is fun.

    I am just wondering that if the game uses the cloud to offload computation and from what i have seen the game is not insanely demanding compared to other games like bf4, so in other words

    Cloud+less demanding effects+exclusivity should make it easier to hit 1080/60 and most probably it should be outputting better res then say like bf4 and i think it should be more than 900

    It is a touch surprising. My current computer runs a Radeon 7790, which is almost identical to the version found in the Xbox One, and can play the game at High settings with 1080p resolution and a rocksteady 60fps. So yes, it's surprising that they are struggling,
    but there could be numerous explanations as to why.

    That's why you've not gotten a straight answer here: there isn't one. Trying to figure out exactly why is like trying to find a piece of straw in a students flat.

    The beta was bad for frame-rate drops and tearing. There's a lot of rough edges, but it's also based on Respawn's most stable code, not their newest, plus the Xbox One's filter was just removed. It'll be interesting to see how the full game runs, but quite

    We may not see 1080 on titanfall because its a new company using an older engine from what I've read. The next installment though. I could be wrong. Bf4 new engine allowed it to do so much and look so good.

    It's not exactly that simple when it comes to developing games, though. Just because one game does it doesn't mean another can or even should. It ultimately boils down to the technology being used and what the engine was designed to do.

    It's great that Wolfenstein will be equal on both consoles, but it also doesn't appear to be a very technically powerful game, either, so it's not hugely surprising news. As for Battlefield 4 it's running on 720p on the Xbox One, and still struggles to hold
    a steady 60fps. Given that the Xbox One isn't as easy to develop for we should see more 1080p titles coming, running at 60fps.

    However, it is dissapointing that tech such as the Xbox One and PS4 struggle to run games at a resolution which is now viewed as standard. I absolutely understand why many people feel annoyed by that, given the cost.

    Me, I'll take a stead 60FPS any day, even if if it means a lower resolution, especially in something fast like Titanfall, which looks like it may very well be hitting 900p at launch.
