Titanfall/Netflix/YouTube/Amazon Prime/Hulu Plus/Crackle (The list goes on)

Microsoft,

This is going to be a little rant but the fact of the matter is that by making everything tied to an Xbox Live account due to greed (Or stupidity) has made our $499 consoles an extremely expensive Blu-ray player. Even if I did not want to play the
Titanfall game (that is still sitting in the plastic wrapping) and stream a movie or a TV Show or hell, watch a 30 second YouTube video to pass the time... I cannot, we cannot.

I wanted to say that I applauded you on reversal of Xbox One DMR but I think after royally *** up Respawn's and its supporters launch of the "Most Anticipated Game of 2014" I really think you need to reevaluate the Xbox Live Account link to everything.
I am a gamer and I really enjoy the Xbox Live service and I do not mind paying for the service but if it goes down and renders my gaming console useless... That just really upsets me.

After the new management has come in and stated that the Xbox Franchise will stay at Microsoft for the long run I think this would be a prime opportunity to put walk in the consumers shoes and realize “if our service fails (Xbox Live) we have completely
shutdown our own hardware.” Just an example, think about the people who just bought the Titanfall/Xbox One bundle and this is the first experience they have had with the new hardware.

I have owned the first editions of each Xbox, Xbox 360 and now the Xbox One (Day One) and I have to say the Xbox One is by far the most ambitious but it has also been the most troublesome and buggy.

So all I am asking is please take some time to rethink Xbox Live Account, how it links to everything and completely runs the console... Or does not in this case.

Youtube sucks. Its much better to use IE and go to YT from there.

 

xbox one rearrange pins not in the right order

ok I figured it out. its actually not random. wherever I put a pin, the next time I go back it is located one more tile to the left. FOR EXAMPLE:

I start in order from left to right (hulu, Netflix, crackle, youtube)

1 if I take Netflix and put it at the end ( hulu, crackle, youtube, Netflix)

2 then the next time it will show ( hulu, crackle, Netflix, youtube)

3 now lets say I take hulu and put it at the end ( crackle, Netflix, youtube, hulu)

4 now then it will show ( crackle, Netflix, hulu, youtube)

5 ok one last example I take crackle and put it in between Netflix and hulu ( Netflix, crackle, hulu, youtube)

6 ok it goes back to ( crackle, Netflix, hulu, youtube)

hopefully this examples it but like I said, it goes one more tile over to the left that I place it at.

Amen. I purchased this thing today the Titanfall edition. I knew even getting it I'd be waiting to play TF do to the digital DL... But i can't even set it up.. watch netflix or do anything. i have a $500 fat box sitting under my tv that at this point is
useless.

 

Same here, I at least thought I'd be able to show my Wife the cool features of the unit and how nifty some of that looked before I bought mine tonight but alas I cannot even do that much. I've been a bit of an angry troll up till this point and I feel a
bit out of character tonight but that is a brilliant post sir, well stated. Oh and I've been a gold member a long time.

 

Xbox One '' The all in One system'' I'm typing here on in reply from my laptop and watching Netflix from you guessed it. hope it gets fixed soon - in the 5th hour now

 

I have had the console since day one and I have had many different issues that the first and the second patches seemed to have fixed but it took months to get those patches released.

1) I could not actually use my Xbox One to watch TV because the Instant On feature was not allowing the TV app to close and it would just sit there, hang and then go to an error code.

2) I could not turn my Xbox One off with my voice it would just sit there at the "Are you sure you want to turn off your console? Yes or No" I would scream at the damn thing "YES" and it would still do nothing and I read in a forum that it was an issue.

3) All my Pins and features would not show up and I had to do a hard reset after the March patch install (Evidently) for the patch to fully take and they showed back up.

That is just to name a few. And god forbid that I actually have to try and explain the system caveats to my gf if I am not there to run it.

 

Also I just saw this in a forum post by Uberkull: Go to Settings<Network<Advanced Settings<Alternate MAC address and chose the clear option.

After the reboot I was able to sign in to Xbox Live and I am installing 840 MB Titanfall file
