TitanFall needs RANKED PLAYLIST

I dont think im hot stuff...just looking for some competition.

why are you on this thread? to complain about people threatening you on past games?

please take that elsewhere. this is for discussion regarding a competitive playlist

 

This thread just isnt for you. Its fine to be a casual gamer, i dont think im better in any way. i just play differently and am looking for a different experience than you.

 

I didn't come here to complain about death threats. I brought those up because they are relevant demonstrations of how competitive people get when their scores are threatened. I don't want to see Titanfall turn into call of duty, no way.

 

I wouldnt want to take anything away from your experience. I wouldnt think there should be any change to the current playlists....only the addition of ranked for those looking for a little more competition...simple as that. I really meant no offense.

I understand that competitve gamers are the minority...

But there are still a lot of people looking for the same type of game Im looking for and I dont see why we shouldnt have the option available.

 

A true skill ranked playlist like Halo has should be in every mp game. I personally liked the Halo 3 matchmaking the best out of the series. The system in that game worked very well to match you with other players of your skill level. Halo 4 is my favorite
mp game but the matchmaking worked the best in H3. Would really like to see something like that in Titanfall.

 

I agree dude. Halo 3 was the golden standard. It changed gaming forever because the matchmaking and ranking was so well done. Granted, with boosters, nothing is perfect...but that really didnt hurt the system all that much... and the true skill ranks
made the game fun to play for nearly an infinite amount of time...people are STILL PLAYING HALO 3.

Nothing has even come close in competitve nature since Halo 3.

 

There goes the cod crowd calling out casuals, phht cod, every bromeo and their dog plays that crap, you cant get anymore casual than that

I agree that COD is extremely casual...probably the most casual game out.

halo 3 was also casual if you played nothing but big team battle and social skirmish...

however, level 45-50 slayer, doubles, snipers, MLG was all very competitive and required a team of 4 working together to win.

No they were all casual cause they are video games, what was on the line? Nothing. You a sports fan too? Get all worked up when a team of man children play a kids game for big money that they shouldnt get and cant handle?

 

Nothing has to be on the line....there are "competitive" leagues for all kinds of games, sports, ect that have no "reward" that arent at a professional level...some people just enjoy friendly competition...I'm not saying everyone in the ranked list is a
professional..

There doesnt need to be anything on the line other than bragging rights or a satisfying win for you and your team mates... I dont get that satisfaction from pounding on scrubs in social games...

maybe you do...but i dont...

I dont know how sports came into this but I genuinely feel bad for you if you cant enjoy them..

I know theyre not for everyone... I know competitive gaming isnt for everyone...but it is for some people.

 

If you ask me, public lobbies are never going to be truly competitive. You'll always have players playing only for their stats regardless of what type of lobby it is. You'll also have people trying to boost or sandbag to gain an advantage in the competitive
lobbies.

The real competition lives in private lobbies that are organized outside of the game by groups of organized people looking for real competition with other organized groups of people. Respawn has said that private lobbies will be coming as free DLC soon.
If you're really looking for competition ant - that's the way to go.

 

Exactly. When you have a XP-less organised private game, then you have a competitive scenario where the win is the goal.

 

I agree that private games would be a great place to start...you're right in that some of the best competition takes place there.

I do enjoy playing random, skilled strangers, though. WIth a group of my friends. Always a good time.

I wouldnt say "never". Halo 2 and 3 were pretty damn good.. You're right, there will always be boosters and cheaters, but most of the halo ranked games were competitive...boosting doesnt make you better, afterall. Only accellerated ones leveling process
in an unfair way.
