Titanfall is just AWFUL!

Actually I'm just kidding. I love the game, so nice I bought it twice! Getting the XB360 version since some of my friends refuse to buy the new console. I guess I'll say this before the CoD militia storms in. I can't stand the call of duty games, I'm not
going to sit here and say they suck, but I will admit that *I* suck at them, but the game is also ridiculously boring to me.

Titanfall has just about everything I've been looking for in an FPS. Yes I know the game has a few issues, but what game didn't when it first came out?

I for one love the campaign mode. Granted you can only complete it so many times in a row before you want to try new game modes, but it's still good.

A lot of people are asking why is multiplayer required for campaign mode. Here's my reasoning behind it. They don't want you to take bad habits from offline into online and then have you wondering why you can't get a single kill. I learned from personal experience
with the CoD, and BF games that as soon as I get the game, I have to jump straight into multiplayer, if I don't...I'll try to play the exact same way I play in single player.

With all that said. Here's a few things I love about the game:

Faster player movement speed than the 'other' games? They got it

Need that feeling of immersion in the game? They got it

Dynamic Map where things are constantly changing and/or blowing up? They got it

Easy to pick up and play for the casual gamers or those new to the genre? They nailed it

Agreed! I even searched around the Avatar Store to try and make an avatar resembling the Titanfall IMC Assassin portrait since there wasn't anything to download

 

I'm surprised there isn't a Titan avatar pet to be honest. I want to get custom games in quickly so my friends and I can play on ALL the maps. I've got almost 50% of Titanfall's achievements, and there are still at least 4 maps I've never played on. Everyone
is always raving about Lagoon, and I still haven't played it yet

 

Two things: Which map is "dynamic"? Is there time of day changing, is there any building destruction, is there any weather changing? Because I havent heard of it or anything "dynamic" about TF maps. Also, I believe all the current "genre'" FPS are casual.

 

It depends on what you define as Dynamic. The weather doesn't change, and there are no alterations to the terrain, but there are massive turrets you can hack into and take over. There are winged monsters on some levels that you can shoot at, and they'll
even swoop down and pick off AI. The time of day doesn't change, and there is no destruction. What there are however, are brilliantly designed maps.

 

Well, you described NOTHING "dynamic" about the maps. He said dynamic maps in TF, and I was asking which ones. I think you answered that for me, thanks.

Alright mate, have it your way. But he may have been referring to the explosions and combat going on in the background of the maps.

 

I'm not sure if it's just in campaign mode, or if I just noticed it because I used to die a lot but...

About halfway through the match, certain buildings and machines start burning/spewing fire out of them, ships in the sky get shot down every few minutes (large ones not baby ones), there's alien creatures around the map, most looking like dinosaurs of some
sort. There's even 'officers' at the beginning of the match running around with you. (Think Dynasty Warriors) Also on the one map (I forgot what it's called) but if you're in one of the smaller buildings as soon as the epilogue starts, it's insta death as
the facilities begin self destructing. (I'm not talking about the Demeter campaign map's ending). While you're playing your next match, just look around for a few seconds

 

The term "dynamic" will mean different things to different people.

Some maps are "dynamic" in the sense that other things beyond the combat are happening graphically. You'll see some buildings/towers falling in the background, you'll see ships coming flying in/out of the map, etc... However, from what I've seen - none of
these things actually change the landscape of the maps or affect the gameplay at all.

 

....played some BF4 last night...still better....this game is fun, but it's not much more than an arcade shooter in terms of bang for your buck....still trying to find the parts of the game that are a "step above" other current shooters on the same platform
..... 6v6 with ZERO environmental destruction or even basic effects like weather on a half dozen uninspired maps doesn't seem like a "leap forward" like all the fanbois keep suggesting ....seems pretty average to me
