Titanfall FREE with new Xbox One purchase? Big FU to Day One adopters from Microsoft!

Have Day 1 Edition with 11 games no problem more people for me too kill the better TF in 9 days hell yeah

 

Got no problem with bundling products., but having paid £429 on day one ahead of £350 for a PS4 it really grates that the implied true value of the console isn't £429 but £350 anyway!

Day one XB1 price: £429

Day one PS4 price: £350

Difference: £80

Price of Titanfall bundle: £399

RRP for Titanfall game: £50

£399-£50= £349 (implied cost of XB1)

Difference between implied cost of XB1 and Day one edition: £80

Simplistic maths but it just tells me that if Microsoft can afford to sell the bundle at £399, they could afford to sell the machine at £350 and Day one people get no reward despite the fact it's our money that's helping fund the price cut.

Bundles are fine when the implied price cut is say 5-10% in the first 6 months of life, but a 20% price cut within 5 months is a bit a of a joke.

Well the Xbox One will have been out for 109 days when Titanfall is released. So, based on the difference you calculated, it's cost you £.73 per day to play Xbox One from 11/22 until 3/11.

Fair point. Just smells a bit of anti-competition with which Microsoft have previous form (IE, WMP).

Never had a problem with MS. Hell, I left my PS2 for the OG XB. That extra £80 just doesn't seem fair. For example, Apple i-devices face huge competition in their market spaces. I haven't followed their price drops, but I can't remember such a price cut
in the first 5% (if XB1 lasts ten years) of their projected lifespans.

 

Titanfall is a targeted trade at gs 30% extra i got 38 dollars for forza5 that leaves 26, no big deal for me cept i hate gs, but i pretty much hate everyone so whatever

You paid what you thought was a fair price on November 22nd and have had the privilege of enjoying the console for the past 3 months. Now it goes on sale and you think that it's not fair?

It is more than ridiculous that they sell a bundle before the game even comes out. I have a Day One system and have always been a good loyal customer having multiple systems and accounts for my family. At least MicroSlop is being consistent by as usual rewarding
their good loyal customers by reaching deeper into their pocket. I preordered and have picked up the Titanfall controller and preoredered the collector set. It took way too long for me to learn but never again.

 

Its the "damage done" scenario, yes it might make original Day One owners frustrated that they spent $500 to get the system at launch without a game. But overall Bundled systems will always happen. I bought my Xbox One in Funerary and yet I do feel alittle
upset that they announced the bundle few days later but I am still getting the game. Its not a big deal since they will keep doing more bundles in the future.

 

Such is ever the lot of the early adopter!

The manufacturer already has you, now they need to snare newcomers.

This isn't a big FU to anyone. It's a marketing ploy to help their sales. Besides, this is common practice. Look at the 360. They used to come out with a brand new game for free with their console.. e.g. Forza, etc. This has been going on for awhile
and now it's making people angry? I don't understand people sometimes...

 

I'd be taking more of an issue with the pre-order incentive through the Microsoft store if you buy disk based ($10 digital credit) vs buying a digital copy of Titanfall and getting nothing. Way to support the digital format...

Really guys... I knew this was coming but I wanted my Xbox on the first day its released... you guys know PS is selling more, right? That's one big reason why they are releasing this bundle. It is actually smart for Microsoft to pull this off... come on.

 

I for one feel that with the current promotion, I have lost faith in [tag:Microsoft]. Currently I can go on amazon and pay $450 USD for the #Titanfall bundle.

That is the equivalent of paying $390 USD and the game, considering I spent $500+ tax on launch for the [tagayOne] edition, I do feel a little ***. [tag:Sony] [tagS4] would've cost me the same give or take a few dollars. This would not have been a
big deal if it weren't for all the issues I've experienced with the day one system. I originally had issues with the drive, luckily best buy swapped it out [tag:shouldvejustreturnedit]

Since then, I've had issues logging into [tag:xboxlive], which unfortunately prevented me from playing games I already owned.

Anyone making excuses for this early pricecut has unfortunately drank the [tag:koolaide]... (since I was an early adopter with the day one edition I too have drank the koolaide).

I too will be paying attention to where this goes, being a [tag:loyalcustomer] has it's limits.
