Any ideas if MS will charge £54.99?

It's quite a bit cheaper from a few retailers right now.

in reality it should be 49,99 and no more, we will have to see later today, some shops are selling for a lot cheaper, but I prefer digital now so I don't go and trade any games in as it costs me a fortune when I want that particular game back with the amount
you lose in trading in.

 

Honestly. I can't see them charging any different to what is the RRP, they don't seem to have learned yet this gen...

 

learned what, digital games may look cheaper to provide but the cost of bandwidth for each download can cost a lot of money.

 

Maybe but honestly it's not going to cost as much as a disc,box, distribution etc. And by learned I mean very few people will make the switch to digital d/l unless they bring the price down. Why would I download a game for more when I can buy from a retailer
for less, keep someone in a job, keep my high street alive and have the ability to trade it in for cold hard cash at a later date?

 

Completely agree with marknally why would I go digital when it's cheaper to buy the disk

 

because soon the high street will be dead, this is the problem with the internet in a whole, and the high street stores have to sell cheaper to stay in business, this will soon change as more and more cant afford to stay alive and then everyone will have
to go digital, also digital downloads have to be slightly higher than the shops due to competition laws.

 

Game pricing is a strange and complex business. Euro gamer did an article a few years back breaking it all down. I'm guessing that with a digital download, MS also get the retailers share of the cash.

Agree with Marknally all the way! Keep the high streets alive!! No way on this planet am i paying full price for a digital download!

 

Or on the other hand you could buy games from the likes of Amazon, I recently pre-ordered Metal Gear 5: Ground Zeroes from Amazon for ££25 (originally it was £35)

I also got South park: Stick of Truth for £34 (£39 on Steam, and everyone says Steam is sooo much cheaper, not in this case)

Dont get me wrong, the high street is great for the compulsive purchase, but 75% of the games I buy all come from the internet.

 

I'll never not buy digital unless it's a game i'm unsure of, once you go digital moving back to discs seems very 2001

 

Its only $60 on the US marketplace, I'm guessing we might see a £45 digital price point seeing as MS recently said they were going to make the pricing of digital games more competitive and also $60 is about £35.

 

They did charge full price, I don't get why when it was going for as little as £37 on amazon, £42 in Tesco's, On a disc.

When will they realise ripping off their fan's by overcharging for digital content is not the way to go.
