titanfall is a true run and gun like the games of yesteryear. its blow you up, fly in the air, run where u like, jump where u like. its a true VIDEOGAME FOR VIDEO GAMERS WHO ARE BORED WITH THE GAMEMAKERS TRYING TO MAKE EVERYTHING more realistic like war.
WAR IS NOTHING LIKE VIDEOGAMES. BUT BF4 IS SWEET.

 

I know everyone is mad about this and I was blind sided by this too. and they should develop one for the fans but EA(registered trademark) controls everything because they sold out for money and to get the use of servers. DUDE THEY GOT GOOD LAWYERS AND MONEY.

 

I LOVE Titanfall. I mean, I can understand why some don't like it, but if you liked COD4 and don't like this then I'm not sure what is up.

 

Yes. It's been killing me that I haven't been playing it much the past week, but works been throwing on the hours, and the free time I have had has been spent trying to catch up on some story games. Been spending time with Metal Gear, Infamous, and now Tomb
Raider DE. I'm hoping to get together with my buddies tonight to play.

I'm loving this game. I put way too much time into the game and never feel burned out. My single gripe with the game is the art direction. I would have definitely went another direction. And the "campaign" is a bit on the weak side although you do get some
kind of plot albeit thin as rice paper. But I'm excited for the dlc and whatever comes next in the titanfall universe. Also wondering what's going on with the rumors that they were supposed to be working on getting the game to 1080p with solid 60. At this
point I really don't care about 1080p but constant 60 fps would be sweet.

If anything, Respawn as a studio is quite the opposite. The details of the disputes are fairly vague but I have a lot of respect for those who told Activision where to stick it and go on to continue making good games that aren't all about the money but about
having fun too. If you look in to the history of the developers, if anything, Titanfall is a spiritual successor to the CoD franchise and CoD has become the guy who inherited a mansion and still begs in doorways for a job.

I also have high anticipations for that FourZeroTwo's new studio brings in to the gaming community. He always seemed to be big on keeping the fans happy and actually left IW because of what CoD has become.

All of this said; CoD4 is love, CoD4 is life.

 

It's obvious people were going to compare Titanfall to COD/Battlefield but for me they are completely different games other than their basically FPS.

Going back a fair few years when I first played COD/BF, they felt exciting, new, for me though especially with COD, nothing really changed over the years, each title felt like more of an expensive add on rather than a "new" game.

So today Titanfall ( for me anyway ) feels like a breath of fresh air, something that's different from countless other MP games but if in say 6-7 years from now we are sitting here talking about Titanfall 4,5 etc and they haven't really changed it much,
no doubt I'll be saying the same as I do about COD/BF now.

 

Yep, people will always compare Titanfall to other FPS games, even if the only thing they have in common are being first person shooters.

 

First, no campaign really is a no-no in my eyes. I still think you have to at least make an attempt. So for me, the game starts off with a knock against it.

As for what is there.... it started out a little "meh" for me.... its fast you run around, you shoot, you get killed. But once you start to understand the leveling up of the titans, pilots and weapons, it starts to get a little more fun and addicting. And
the fun level definitely jumps when playing with friends.

I'd say my biggest disappointment is there are only 3 types of titans?? I thought it would be so cool to have lots of them and you collect them. Some would be harder to get or rarer....I think they missed an opportunity there.

But the game is fun, its hard to argue that. Live up to the hype? Ummmm.....sure, I think so.

 

Got this yesterday but only played it today and it seem good fun. Was getting bad screen tearing, but turning 'Game Mode' on my TV seemed to help it a bit.

 

I think it does, and I agree with OP about playing with friends. But I felt the same about every multiplayer based game I play. I bought it to play with my friends, and if they aren't on, I'll play something else.

I think this is good for the longevity of the game. Instead of binging solo for a few weeks and getting bored with it, I play a few hours a week with friends, and every time it's a blast, and I look forward to the next time.
