    Titanfall Connection Drop - Every 5 mins


    Since launch on the 13/03 (Aus) without fail my connection drops literally every 5 mins (well, between 4:30 & 5 mins once connected/in-game). Doesn't matter if it is in the training modules, or campaign, I will get the "Retrying Connection" screen, and
    then am dumped back to the main menu. It has been like this since launch. EA Support refer me to Microsoft, Microsoft say that the network engineers are aware of connection problems & are investigating but are unable to confirm if they are aware of this
    very specific 5 minute drop-out connection issue. Is anyone else having the same issue?

    So far, have tried the following:

    • Opened all ports listed here: http://help.ea.com/en/article/online-ports-to-open-for-titanfall/
    • Rebooted & un-powered XBOne & router (Netgear D6300) numerous times
    • Wired/Wireless connection test
    • Tried placing Xbox in DMZ on LAN
    • Tried with Belkin (prior to reading the issue with Belkin routers) & a D-Link router
    • Xbox Live Service Status doesn't list any issues that I have seen over the last 3 days
    • Cleared the Bluray Persistent Storage 3 times on XBOne
    • Cleared the Alternate MAC Address on XBOne
    • Punched myself in the face repeatedly
    I am not experiencing any other issues online with any other game (Ghosts, Forza, Ryse), and my internet connection speeds are relatively OK (12.53 Mbps / 1.53 Mbps).

    Any one have any other ideas or had any success with resolving this problem? Or will it be a case of waiting for EA/MS to actually provide the service that you pay for?

    Drop out every 30 mins

    Hey. I got no decent help from anyone on this site. Eventually managed to explain the situation to iinet and they monitored my Internet usage over the course of a typical weekend and I had to email them every time I had a drop out. From that they were able
    to narrow down the problem and did something to my connection that may have involved sacrificing a chicken for all I know because they certainly didn't explain it too clearly. But touch wood I've been playing happily for 2 weeks straight with no drop out.
    Short answer is forget getting anywhere with the Xbox experts and start hounding iinet. Good luck.

    Has anybody got a resolution to this .. i am with iinet also and am getting the same issue .. only started this week though ..

    Hey,

    Having exactly the same problem!!!

    I get exactly 5 minutes of game play & then I lose connection.

    I can go straight back in no dramas at all; but as soon as my 5 minutes is up I lose connection again.

    It also Looks like I've tried pretty much all the same things you've tried; but to no avail.

    I've spent a fair bit of time googling and trolling the net for a solution as well; also to no avail.

    I was going to go another round with Xbox support and quote my previous support number to see what they say?

    Xbox Support are telling me as far as they know it is an isolated known issue.

    Apparently, there are sporadic matters just like this on some accounts; depending on the region.

    (Which I'm guessing includes Australia.)

    They also said that normally once reported to EA; EA can easily remotely fix the issue with the account.

    Which would make sense, because I noticed that the server drops out after exactly 5 minutes even if I'm just sitting signed in @ the private lobby.

    It's like the server is assuming I'm inactive and kicking me; even when I'm playing the training.

    I was promised a resolution in the next 96 hours; so I'll keep you posted.

    I get the same issues, but not as severe as you.

    Hopefully someone will chime in and help you out.

    OK, so I'm not sure how many people this is actually going to help; as I stumbled onto this by myself (Without support from Xbox or EA) by accident and it's not really a fix.

    However, I notice a comment online about someone having a similar issue when connected to their router/modem by an LAN cable. When they unplugged the LAN cable and connected wirelessly to their router/modem they could play without the server being disconnected.

    It's early days; but it actually worked for me!

    I was connected through a LAN cable, so I unplugged and went wireless; I still had to open the required ports. However I've since played through both Pilot & Titan training scenarios without being disconnected from the server on the Beta Aust Data Center.

    I even collected my first (Of what will hopefully be many.) Titanfall achievements for completing the training; all of which I couldn't stay connected long enough to do before.

    I'll keep you posted if anything else develops but for now, I'm gaming again.

    Hopes this tip helps others out there to get their game on, as it has me.

    So, if you see me on the field of battle (Before you shoot.) just remember whose tip got you out there; and feel free to take a bullet/missile in gratitude.
