Titanfall, 5 bars, super laggy

Whenever I play any first person shooter on my home connection, I get significant lag. It's to the point where I can be running in place for three seconds or more, back to normal, then a disconnect. etc etc

I ran a speed test from my Xbox one and I'm about 90 mbps up, 90 mbps down, zero packet loss either way. In Titanfall I'm consistently 5 bars.

My ISP is DirecPath and they show no issues with my building's connection.

The eastern data center shows about 21 ms for me most of the time.

I plug directly into the wall, thinking, if anything, the router would mess me up.

Still, I'm very laggy to the point of being unplayable.

Has anyone had this kind of problem? Please help.

I did my keys tonight and man......my was running good before...............nope just thought it was. After I got all the keys taken care of its a beast. So far so good.

 

I had this happen every once in a awhile where the server was completely unplayable and my connection wasn't the issue. I just exited that server and went to another and everything worked out fine. If it's continuous for you still, try a different region
to see if it's the game or the servers. Hope this suggestions points you in the right direction to a solution!

 

My advice is to change data centre sometime you will get bad games

Just reading through these forums, I'm thinking maybe everyone's going through what I'm going through and I'm just whining too much.

Is rubber-banding on the order of two to three seconds at least once per game "normal?"

It's not so bad I guess. Sort of playable. It's just that I also periodically play on a connection that's flawless.

I'm thinking it may not be a case of "my connection is bad" but rather "that other connection is just really really good."

OP, you are not alone. I actually unplugged my ethernet cable last night and just ran the Xbox through wifi. Even though I had a slightly higher ping I had an overall better experience. It's counterintuitive but it seemed to work - better. Not perfect, but
better.
