Titanfall 2 Global Hacking (all platforms)

Titanfall 2 is being killed and Titanfall 1 is dead. I know this sounds over-dramatic, but it is not. Globally Titanfall 1 has been eliminated by a single hacker who is now threatening Titanfall 2 servers. The issue spans from PC to PlayStation and renders bot games unplayable.

Sounds false to some of you, huh? Well it is not. The issue has been going on for several years now, but originally started on Origin (EA PC gaming platform). The hacker, likely an ex-Respawn employee in charge of matchmaking protocols, overloads the servers with bot accounts that disable the server by creating accounts with ludicrously long names and overloading the server. An example of the name type used on PC (and potentially xBox if the hacker can address server source code) is as follows: “ ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Atomic Bomb ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| “. This ID is taken from one witness on Titanfall 1 on Origin. Numerous times I contacted Ea and Respawn (including one email suggesting they use Steam to see if their servers were more secure) and got no feedback on any ideas.

This issue is severe and has been plaguing the community, since EA and Respawn have failed to address the issue in a manner significant enough to stop the hacking. YouTubers, long-time Titanfall players, and even new players are all receiving the same issues. Recently JerDude even made a video about the issue.

I am hoping that somebody working with Microsoft security and views this can contact me so I can ask a few technical questions regarding server types used and several other aspects. I have tried every possible means of Microsoft and xBox support, but haven’t obtained any useful information.

Please, for the love of gaming and everything fair-play, if you are a Microsoft employee…will you please give me a means to contact somebody in the cyber security department so I can ask a few questions and maybe get some answers on how this one person is able to take down an entire franchise.

This isn’t my first rodeo with this individual/hacking event and I know how it progresses into full server takedown/lockout for players.

1) It starts with mild aimbot accounts that test the server security and enable the person to see how much support comes to the community to look for the ideal opportunity to attack.

2) It then progresses to random matches lagging slightly (maybe 2-3x higher than normal)

3) individual players or whole teams/parties start to experience debilitating lag

4) entire matches/players crash and have to restart the game

5) most matches experience significant lag (300-1000) and continued step #4

6) a majority of matches that are not full experience disabling lag (1000-5000*) and continued steps 4-5 [*highest ping I’ve ever witnessed]

7) private, locked, and full matches lag so as to make the game unplayable

8) the game has been killed by one person overloading the servers

Currently the issue ranges between 4-6, but as of 07-16-2021 Titanfall 2 on Xbox is experiencing 2500+ ping on match startup in any mode…this indicates stage 6 is beginning with hints of 7. Many looking for group posts and community members with mics are asking about this issue and nobody seems to be able to answer why. Well, put simply, this is why the game is not working: “the hacker is using a bot/system of bots to join matches (kicking or crashing players as needed) and overload the matches by filling up any empty spot on a team with accounts that are forever joining, but never loading in.

I know I sound like I know a lot, but I don’t really know much more than general details due to experience with this before. I fought for a year to get support for Titanfall 1 and get the issue quarantined, but nothing came. I’m hoping now that Titanfall 2 on Xbox is getting hacked/killed we can get some of the global gaming giants on our side to help identify the individual and come up with a way to save a franchise that has tens of thousands of players still.

Please, if you value fair play or love Titanfall, share this and raise awareness outside the community. Divided we can do nothing against this hacker, but together, as one unified body of gamers, we can save a game (and maybe get enough support to save others from Hackers!).
