Tinker, now that GFWL is dead it should be recoded for console

Tinker was a fun puzzle solver made by MS for GFWL now that GFWL is dead i think tinker should be recoded for 360 or one maybe both and be a GWG as it was a free game to beging with i hope many other feel the same and push for this

I stand corrected. That bit got me confused about the messages. To get the Games for Windows LIVE client, you'll need a Games for Windows Game. You can download Tinker for GFWL. It's free!

Using Tinker or any Games for Windows LIVE game, you can send messages and chat to friends with a mic. You don't need a Gold account for GFWL.

The GFWL system uses the same Windows LIVE ID system. So you can use your current Gamertag.

 

What Games Are Free For Xbox

Tinker is also free. It's a PC game, but it has Xbox 360 achievements. You need to download GFWL.

 

It occured to me not long ago that Microsoft's apprehension to declare Games for Windows Live officially done... coincided with the acquisition of Mojang/Minecraft. It doesn't take much imagination to see the applications... y'know... a unifying client across
platforms, a marketplace for content across platforms etc

Minecraft could be the thing to bring Xbox One, PC, and mobile platforms together across the Live service -- which would encompass GfWL. Not in the near future... but it does seem likely IMO. There've been hints of it.

As for Tinker. If it's free... I'm game. I like free stuff. =)

 

GFWL might be on life support but it isn't dead. You can still download and play Tinker.

Microsoft made a mistake when they launched Games for Windows Live by trying to charge for onliine play, they got told by PC gamers to go and do one. The requirement for Gold membership to play online was swiftly dropped from GFWL.

Sadly however the damage was done. Despite improving with each update PC gamers always held that initial mess up against Microsoft. Oddly those same people forget how bad Steam was when it first launched.

Microsoft have already taken a first step with 'Xbox for Windows', Xbox being a brand that really has very little negative press attached to it, compared to GFWL.

They should have gotten off their bottoms and gotten games like Arkham City to migrate to Xbox for Windows rather than dumping that eco-system and moving entirely to Steam.
