Timesplitters 1, 2 and Future Perfect for Backwards Compatibility

So, I opened this discussion with the hopes that others would find it, give their opinions and, maybe, get enough support for Microsoft to see how much we would like to see these games licensed and re-released on the Xbox One. Who knows? Maybe we could
help convince them to resurrect the series, but that part's mostly wishful thinking.

Time Splitters!

Timesplitters 1, excellent game.

Timesplitters 2, better that the first, an excellent game.

Timesplitters Future perfect, under EA, nowhere near as good as the fits two.

Timesplitters 4? Under EA and coming out in this day and age? God help us.

I'll be sure to check it out. I've been trying to find a good place to post this discussion, but since I couldn't find one I made one myself.

 

A series I never got into but would love to give a chance on current hardware.

 

Well, if you like fun story modes, awesome multiplayer and one of the most detailed map creators ever seen on a console game, then THIS is the series to try.

 

Would be good to see those hitting back compat.

However, it isn't up to Microsoft to allow these games to come to Backwards Compatibility. It is up to the developers/publishers, it would be worthwhile contacting them (if they still exist).

 

Free Radical is owned by Crytek, so maybe Microsoft may be willing to talk them into making it backwards compatible. Who know's? Maybe if there's enough downloads and positive feedback it may renew their interest in the series.

Unfortunately Xbox ideas/uservoice does not take requests for backward compatible games any longer. Your best bet to try is to contact the developers and request it through them.

I enjoyed Timesplitters. I don't believe I've played the others though. I'm thinking I'll have to do some research.

 

I've been meaning to get into the series for a while now. What was your favorite thing about the game? I'm a sucker for a really good story, so If I can find that with TImesplitters I may need to dig out the old 360

 

The story from what I remember is pretty okay, and the cutscenes are very well animated. There's also a lot to do and unlock, and the game is packed with content like a challenge mode which will unlock new game modes for the multiplayer (which CAN be played
with bots), the story which will unlock new characters and weapons for you to play with in multiplayer, and an in-depth, user-friendly map maker that not only allows for the creation of multiplayer maps, but the creation of story missions, too! Honestly, many
modern games can take a few pages from Free Radical's playbook here.
