    I have seen other posts regarding this issue. Many of us cannot sit down to play the Events straight through rather it be tending to the kids, etc. The timer should be a cumulative of the actual time spent playing NOT the amount of time from when you start
    the Event to when you finished. Myself, I work nights and will start the Events with great times but when I wake up and get to finish, I have times in the 8 hour - 9 hour range!

    Next 'Dead Rising' will use Unreal Engine 4

    I didn't like the timers in DR1 and DR2 either, but the timer in DR3 is extremely friendly. I didn't even pay attention to it. Did free roam, went around collecting, and did all missions with plenty of time left.

    Why is everybody saying Dead Rising 4 looks terrible?

    Ah, yeah i never tried off the record or 3, i was done once i saw timer... then each successive title i just look to see if the timer is back and if i see it i put the game down and walk away.

    I have the same problem, in my case I live in nursing home. There meals, treatments, meds, and other calls so I have to shut down and reload. The time score should be the total time solving the problem not the time I start and time completed. I will never
    finish in top 10 or 25. Other problem is loading the games because of slow internet, when we are working on solution the program should be loading up more games in the back ground.

    Need for parental timer

    You could always do it the old fashioned way and use a stopwatch, an egg timer, a timer on a microwave or lastly the oven timer. Simple run of the mill items around the house.
