Time Warner Cable - Cisco STB (4742HDC)

I bought xbox one a few months ago and tried using this with a different model STB (still Time Warner Cable, but it was a Scientific Atlanta box). I never got it to work, assumed it was just an incombility of STB and XB1. But now I have this new Cisco
box and the same thing is happening. I only find 1 post and its here on this forum, and they said they got it to work just fine (tho its with COX, not TWC).

So the STB looks like it bounces between 480p and 1080i. while alternating between "2d" and the time on the display. It'll do this for about 5 minutes; while the picture is locked up on the screen. Eventually the box will reboot itself. The forum post
said manually changing the STB code to "0877" will fix it. Didn't for me.

1. I've set XB1 to show "Auto Detect" over "HDMI" in Display settings

2. My TV is LG and is set to "Just Scan" tho I've tried setting it to 16:9 and received same results

Xbox support chat said that I need to contact TWC and have them push settings to me for it to work, I'm currently on hold with them to do that - but nothing I've googled suggested that anyone has ever had to have TWC push settings to the box for it to work?
So is that a thing?

Any other things to do/try?

Thanks, I'm assuming you tried to go through your set top box setup with either TWC or Cisco as the brand?

You can go through it again by going to TV & OneGuide settings -> devices -> cable/satellite box. From there you can try to detect the STB again.

If neither Cisco nor Time Warner work as brands. You can try typing in the Cisco model #.

If that doesn't work, here's a crazy idea that worked for TWC Samsung STB users - Go through STB detection with Comcast as the brand (don't change any guide stuff, just for your cable box setup).

 

Changing Channels?

I had the exact same problem today. Swapped the HDMI cable between the Cisco box and the XB1. Went from a 3m to a 2m and mostly resolved the issue. Going to try 1m to see if the occasional freezing on power up disappears. Suspect it has to do with signal
loss across the cable.

What do u mean? Just change the way the cord goes and how do u know what channel to put it on
