Time to Bring back WW2 type game?

do you think they will ever re make an old school WW2 war game with the great graphics? sorta like the original call of duty or that style of feel old school WW2 style?

COD World at war 2

I've been hoping for a world war 2 for 5 years. I have no interest in COD becoming a futuristic shooter. We already have Halo, Titanfall, Battlefront and Destiny. I don't want lazerbeams in COD, I dont want men in space suits who can fly through the
air. I like COD because it is 'realistic'.

How many new WW2 shooters are coming out? There is an opening in the market. Call of Duty 2 and WaW were excellent games, why has it taken so long for another? Saying ww2 is played out is outdated. It's been 7 cod releases since we last saw a ww2 shooter.

I really enjoy Modern warfare, but it needs a change from the current cycle of modern warfare to slightly futuristic.

I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a treyarch game since War at War so I would love to see them go that direction. Bring back the original Nazi zombies, bring back 'war', flamethrowers, the gib effect, unscoped bolt action rifles. Bring back the browning/bar/thompson/gewehr/type/garand/ppsh.
Bring in a new kill streak - kamikazees!

It's time to go back to the classics.

 

Can we go back to WWII please!

There have been 5 COD titles released since the last ww2 game. It's about time to go back to that era. A large part of the community has probably never even played a ww2 game. I love the modern warfare series and waw/COD2.... but treyarch kind of lost
me with the cold war and vietnam era. I'm also not interested in futuristic shooters...so blops 2 was a step in the wrong direction. Bring us back to the trenches!!!

 

Probably. I hope they at least come out with a new one. There is not many things more American than killing Nazi's.

 

That Sniper Elite III game is pretty good if you're looking for some WWII action. It's more stealth and less action that COD, but you get to run around in North Africa in 1942 and kill *** and blow up Tiger tanks. There's even a DLC mission where you can
take out Hitler.

 

I'm playing that now sort of....

 

I doubt they'll re-make any WW2 based games anytime soon. They may re-release some in the future sometime. I think we should just keep innovating on the FPS genre and going in new directions instead.

 

Actually sniper Elite 3 was way better then I thought it would be. However, Something like COD WAW would be so much better then AW.

 

I've always wanted a World War I game. While "Valiant Hearts" was a fantastic game, it was more of a puzzle/adventure type game.

 

i enjoyed the original medal of honour games wish they would make a good moh game again.

 

If World War 2 games ever make a comeback (people seem to forget that the FPS genre after the first Medal of Honor were ALL WW2 games with little exceptions to the norm), they should explore different war theaters. WW2 wasn't solely carried out in the European
front - there was also the Pacific and the North Africa theaters.

Or maybe we are really ready for a good WW2 game. One more time. I just wish it wasn't Activision the one who makes it if it's going to be done.

 

so as of right now which online shooter do you think is the most popular out of the call of duty series, halo series, battlefield series and destiny?

 

I agree, someone needs to bring one out, there is a gap in the market for one! All these futuristic games are getting boring and don't really appeal to me

 

Activision would be great for the job if they just allowed the devs to work around a spectacular story.

Every CoD game feels good to play, its just the settings after CoD4 that got ridiculous. From CoD to CoD4, the devs did some superb work.

But if they wanted to do a WWII game, it doesn't have to be about trying to kill Hitler. For years in the movie industry, this was pretty much all the movie industry aimed for, then along came Saving Private Ryan (a movie based on saving a lower ranked soldier)
and the story and action blew us away.

I have uncles who served from the start of WWII and did a full 21 year service, but during the war they never met each other, and had many many stories to tell which were different to each other over the course of many years.
