  1. Time limit on Xbox not working

My son has a time limit of 1 hour on Xbox games, he usually plays via both our Series S and Gamepass Cloud.

The problem is that the limit is never enforced, he plays more than 2 hours nearly every day even with the 1 hour limit.

Yes the console is connected to internet and obviously gamepass cloud is as it runs on Microsoft servers. What's wrong?

See Screenshot1 and Screenshot2 (linking from cloud storage as uploading them here does not work for me, all uploads fail)

    :)

Ahhh, didn't think of that. I'm assuming I can log out of my account on the xbox and then I would need to login everytime I wanted to use it? Which is nbd.

Fix screen time limits not working
    Applies to: Microsoft accountWindows 10

    • If you set up screen time but it isn't working as expected, here are a few things you can try:
    • Set up one schedule: With the latest update of Windows, you're able to set up one schedule that'll apply to all of your child's devices. This means if you give them five hours in a day, they'll have five hours between their Xbox
One and Windows 10 devices. Otherwise, time gets tracked separately, so one hour of screen time means one hour per device.
    • Update Windows: Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and install any available updates. Check
your child's device for an update
    • Restart your device: Select Start > Power > Restart.
    • Sign in: Make sure your child is signed in with their Microsoft account on their device. If they are, you can check to make sure their account is syncing up right. Select Start > Settings > Accounts and
follow the prompts to verify their account.
    • Keep it in the family group: Accounts outside of your Microsoft family aren’t subject to screen time limits that you set. To prevent kids from creating new accounts, on your Xbox
press the Xbox button, then select System > Settings > System > Signed-out
content restrictions. Create a guest key and turn off Let people download & make new accounts. From then on, you'll need a guest key to add new accounts.

Glitch, maybe. There is no Save, Activate, or Apply button on the time restriction page. I usually refresh the page to make sure the changes take affect.

XBOX One time limits not working

    Hi Danno,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have questions on time limits. If he doesn't sign out or leave the Xbox in stand by mode the time may go over. Also, it doesn't count time played on a different account. As the

    guide for screen time limits
    states:

Note Once screen time limits are set up, time counts down whenever a child signs in. So, if they’re not actively using their console, have them sign out.

    Hope this helps.

    Brad
