    Thursday's update BRICKED my Xbox One


    Before yesterday's update my Xbox One always worked perfectly but yesterday upon returning for work I powered up my Xbox One to play a game and found that it now crashes partway through the initial setup claiming that there is something wrong with the wireless
    hardware (which is insane since I have a wired network and even the controller is connected to the console by the OEM wire that it came with), this happens no matter what choices I make in the initial setup and when I called Xbox phone support they had me
    do a hard reset which had no effect and even though they openly admit that this problem is their update's fault the console is to far out of warranty to be covered and they said their only depot repair site is currently under water in Texas so even if I did
    have warranty they wouldn't be able to fix it any time soon (and out of warranty repair through them would be insanely expensive anyways) so I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any way to bypass this idiotic initial setup garbage or has this new update
    truly BRICKED my unit so the only choice is buying a new S or defecting to the PS4?

    Just used xbox accesories in windows 10 anniversary to update my xbox one controller and now is bricked. This is *** ridiculous.

    Im a bit worried!

    i've had all the Xbox One updates and neither have bricked my console. i've even had them when in beta and not publicly released.

    I stated my current Xbox one is not working now, thanks to the Latest Update. It’s not a new one.

    It’s a useless brick now, if I buy a new one today from the store will it get the same Update of death and turn that one into a useless brick also??

    Microsoft only updates xbox live every tuesday and thursday so the ad being on the dash no its not helping being on there but since they put it on thursday it was there to stay til at least tuesday. if it was my idea put it up on tuesday take it down on

    What does "I set it off" mean?

    You pulled the plug or turned off power when an update was started?

    I think hardest reset is holding two buttons(at disk drive, not long from usb there and power) until it starts and do a full reset of console from a menu or something.
