thumbstick drift and lack of response from support

    for the last month or so my controller has had a left thumbstick drift which is apparently a common problem on the forums here. I contacted support only to be told i am a month out of warranty. but they would be happy to sell me a new controller at the
    standard $60 rate. shame on you microsoft for exploiting you customer base like this. you have an accessory with a known and apparently frequent issue. you want people to spend money on games, DLC, in app purchases. but you dont seem to want to help them
    when there is an issue with the merchandise you sold us. Of course the majority of us are going to purchase a new controller. its the only way to continue to enjoy the product we have invested in, the actual fix for this is way beyond the average person
    to attempt. Microsoft, please do right by your customer base and address this issue.

  2. Xbox One Controller Drifting

    Hello,

    Recently my Xbox One controller started to malfunction. The left thumbstick drifts up and down when countering to correct the problem. I've tried to contact via chat but no one has responded. I would greatly appreciate some sort of response to restore confidence
    in the support team.

    Controller drifts forward but only in-game

    It also doesn't drift all the time. It will drift after a second or two of not touching the thumbstick.

    Alright, soooo what's the actual issue here? Seems like you just came here to complain and rant. I've had both my controllers since day one and they're still working fine. I understand that it sucks, but that's how it is sometimes. Not EVERY single controller
    is ever going to be 100% perfect. It's just not possible. Have you tried these solutions yet?

    Make sure that your controller has fresh batteries and that your controller is updated.

    Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.

    Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.

    Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.

    Power on your console and try resyncing the controller to your console again.

    Check to see if the issue is continuing to occur.

    have you tried these solutions

    • Solution 1.
    1. Make sure that your controller has fresh batteries and that your controller is updated.
    2. Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    3. Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
    4. Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
    5. Power on your console and try resyncing the controller to your console again.
    6. Check to see if the issue is continuing to occur.
    • Solution 2.
    Use a friends controller to confirm it is the controller.

    If the above DO NOT work

    You will have to purchase a new or pre-owned controller.

    I've had a lot of issues with both my controllers, first the batteries come loose and then you disconnect, they 90% of the time will Not turn the counsel on, tried all fixes, it always returns. And now joystick drift, which is caused from using plastic parts
    instead of the metal ones that the 360 controllers use, I think that's why their coming out with this new.elite controller, which for one probably has metal joystick parts, but totally unfair to us consumers to have to pay 150.00 to get that security that
    you can play without issues. I think they should recall the he faulty controllers or at least fix with new designed metal parts like the 360 had, or make a the 360 controllers capable of being used on this one.system, at least they DONT fail, like the two
    of mine are, just my 2 cents

    yes actually i did come here to complain. i kinda figured thats what the support forums were for. glad to hear that your controllers work great. unfortunately if you look on the forums here this is a common problem. it would be different entirely if
    this was a rare occurence and i got a faulty controller. it happens. but this seems to be a issue that is persistent with lots of people. i have done all those basic steps with the batteries and the console reset and updates and blah blah blah. its a hardware
    problem with the controllers. i was actually told by the customer service rep to come on here and voice my concerns. i find this to be shady way to treat customers who have been loyal. also, i agree that this new "elite" controller is a bit of a slap
    in the face at $150

    I can see why you are annoyed with this issue.

    I have also experienced this issue first and and it can be fairly annoying. The only solution to the problem is to buy another controller New or Used. Apologies that i can not help you further.

    Just so everyone is aware, the elite controller also has the plastic modules under the sticks, so I wouldn't waste double the cost of regular controller, to have the same issues MOST are having with drifting issues, another 2 cents

  11. How can your response be reset the system or update the controller? Microsoft you any be that stupid to expect a program update to solve a HARDWARE issue then you just say buy another one? *** you how about you make a product that works since most people
    spent nearly a thousand on. Talk about half assing your products thanks for yhat.
