Thumbnails from game library missing

Hey there, Rebel Han Yolo! Sorry to see that this is still happening to you! Most users have found that clearing their cache anywhere from 3 times to 10 times resolves this for them.

Is this a new hard drive that you are using on this console as well, or the old one from the other console?

Regardless of this information, we were investigating this issue earlier this month. Because you are still having this issue, I have gone ahead and let the investigating teams know what is going on and will let you know once I have more information.

 

The problem appears to be fixed now. No clearing of the cache needed I think. I noticed icons were all displaying on one of the XBox 360's in my house so I went to my primary XBox 360 and sure enough all game art icons are displaying for me again without
me making any changes on the XBox 360. This proves to me the problem is with the XBox Live service itself. This issue with XBox Live needs to be investigated and fixed. The easiest fix I can think of is to make it so all of the images get downloaded to the
XBox 360 so the image can always be loaded regardless of being connected to XBox Live. I don't think that should be hard at all to fix myself.

 

As I stated above, we are currently investigating this and the teams looking into this have been updated on this situation. Thanks for letting us know that you seem to be resolved now, though!

 

It might be easier to fix the symptom than investigating why this happens is my point. Apparently this has been a problem that pops up sporadically for years with the many updates to the XBox 360 dashboard. The easiest solution is to store the game art
images on the XBox 360 and not require them to be downloaded every time the My Games portion of the XBox 360 interface is selected which is incredibly inefficient in my opinion. That seems like a big design flaw to me. Caching data like images from the internet
is always a better option than getting the resources every time you need them. That's internet client programming 101.

 

Well you know...it's Microsoft. And the Xbox dashboard hasn't had 'good programming' in mind ever since the NXE refresh. Can we get a fix already? And while we're at it, can you let the 'team' know that they haven't fixed removing pins on items that don't
exist? Seriously. It's annoying. :|

 

honestly i haven't noticed this problem until Microsoft said the Xbox One will be backwards compatible. but then it might have been anytime before that, i'm not real sure. but its kinda annoying and the default pictures are all over the apps i already had
installed.

 

The problem with icons missing for games is back with the latest dashboard update. Can Microsoft please implement a better solution for displaying game art? It is very sloppy looking and makes the system appear to be broken. Please allow the XBox 360 console
to cache images locally in case XBox Live is having problems rendering images.

Can we get our pins fixed too while we're at it? They literally stack on absolutely useless features and leave the features that actually need fixing, completely broken. PINS HAVE BEEN BROKEN SINCE THEY LAUNCHED. FIX THEM. FIX CACHING. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
STOP TRYING TO JAM IN USELESS FEATURES THAT NO ONE WANTS.

 

I also hope that the performance of loading game images and pins will be improved. And the different pin behaviour since the last update is also confusing.

 

All the cover-art needs to be locally stored c'mon MS it's not rocket science

 

Call Microsoft and complain as they said they will not fix it until the volume of calls reaches a certain number. I have the same issue as everyone here. (800) 469-9269 Microsoft number call and complain users unite.

 

My Xbox 360 went totally drunk displaying the cover pictures. A lot of games with wrong pictures right now. Issue still going on. :/
