    Three games recently released that don't load from the menu screen....What the bloody...


    First it was Foreclosed, then the Hustler and now the Tormented Souls game, all recent releases that seem to be affected by this REFUSAL TO LOAD FROM THE MENU SCREEN virus. Foreclosed was released several weeks ago, and when I loaded it up again recently, the problem still hadn't been fixed. YES some people say you just have to power cycle the console down, unplug your console for 10 minutes, and then with any luck you can launch the game. REALLY ???, is this some new norm we have to accept for our video games now? The powering down, unplugging etc works sometimes, but it's not a guarantee. In addition, you have to go through this inconvenience for every play session. It's a HASSLE, that's what it is.

    So far I haven't experienced this with a triple A title, only on games with a smaller development team. They're going to be really impacted by

    consumers not wanting to risk buying a game with this strange affliction. I don't know whether to purchase Hindsight 20/20 The Wrath of something or other on release day because of my fears over it having the same problem.

    Something's wrong, and it needs acknowledging first, and then fixing. When a game is available to purchase on the microsoft store, you expect it to load and work on the same day. Maybe COVID's to blame again...

    I think I am having the same kind of issue with HADES, does the game work with other profiles? mine does, making it even more odd....

    Hi there,

    I haven't tried creating another profile because I don't think it should be necessary to do so. It's either a game issue or a system issue and it's incumbent upon whoever's responsible to fix it. We've paid for the game, and it's reasonable to expect it to work on day one. Thanks for posting your experience by the way. It all helps to make our voices a little louder!

    What do you hate about the game your playing?

    I mean - game flaws, bugs, the difficulty, the stupidness of the way puzzles are made etc etc etc. I dont mean - your still at work so you cant play mass effect 3.

    I am alive - freezing on the loading screen a few times. The three retrys it gives you because its so bloody difficult. The A.I. is sso bloody thick and forgetfull.

    It sounds like the saved game itself may be corrupt. If loading it from the menu, or from the in-game load screen causes possible issues with the game not loading, that's the most likely culprit. It's pretty rare for saved games to corrupt, but it can
    happen, and each game handles it differently.
