Thread "auto-lock?"

Discus and support Thread "auto-lock?" in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; Hi folks! So, this might be more of a "suggestion," but I still think it's a valid question.     Hi folks! So, this might be more of a "suggestion," but I still think it's a valid question. Is there any way to make it so threads on the forums here automatically lock when the most recent post is more than a certain number of days old? I ask because,
    I've already seen like 6 threads locked just today, and the reason is because someone has replied to a VERY old thread/post. This then bumps it up to the top of the threads, so other people start responding thinking it's NOT an old thread - I actually had
    one locked, because I was replying seeing that the two most recent posts were from today. Turns out, though, that those two replies were replying to a thread from June of last year!

    It's easy to miss an old thread if there are very recent replies, so it just seems like it would save time for everyone if a thread auto-locked if the most recent response was, say, 60 days old (or even 30, maybe?) Just a thought!

    (PS, I'm just now realizing there isn't a good "category" for where to place this, so.... Anyhoo....)

    Is THAT why these old threads keep popping up? People are trying to just get XP?? No wonder I see so many replies that either just re-state an answer that was already given, or even state information that was in the original question....
    Since the forums have changed there has been an increase in that and a lot of really bad discussion threads

    14 days, I suppose, but if it's an ongoing issue it seems like it could take longer than that. And yeah, the best thing to do is just not reply to an old post, but it's easy to miss when other people have replied and kick it back up to the top of the list
    (I seldom check the date on the original post, just the most recent replies.)

    Right, I get that. I'm saying it would make sense to automate the process rather than have someone have to police it (and it would also completely eliminate necroposting, because if the thread was already auto-locked, it would be impossible to post a reply.)

    The recommendation that was made to me by a fellow Ambassador and Moderator is to not reply on any post that is older than 14 days, so that it is not considered Ambassador XP Spamming.

    Hi! threads are locked by forum mods. In the case you said it's because replying to an old thread is necroposting and the mods want to avoid that.
