I don't mind to write a somewhat lengthy review, but if you have read any of my recent posts it might be a little bit rehashed. I'm going on a full attack, so I'm sure most of you will not make it through the whole thing, but I'm bored and stuck at work
so here we go. My first pet peeve was the unpolished feel of the product and the fact that all my original sealed normal copy of WWE 12 came with was a mini-instruction manual. Granted there was a link to an online manual, but I paid for the game and they
can't even give me the full instructions on how to play it? They call it going green, I call it ripping people off and giving them less value for their money. To the best of my knowledge and I'm quite old so I've been playing since the atari 2600 days, I've
never bought a new game without instructions in all of my days.

Speaking of online, I currently live in the UAE and as of yet I haven't been able to get online with my X-BOX. I miss XBL and some day I'll give it another try, but for the time being I can't download anything. I know this causes me to miss out. Again, it's
understandable that I can't have competetive play nor community creation data. These are things that are beyond THQ's control. However, being on the outside looking in at DLC makes me feel left out. Certain wrestlers, like the Rock, should automatically come
with the game. The model is finished I'm sure they could have put him on the standard disk. I'm especially perplexed by the alternate attires. Am I really going to be charged extra money so that the MIz can have a new shirt, REALLY? They should let you edit
all parts of the outfit under superstar threads. DLC (although I couldn't get it at this moment no matter how good it was) should be for really significant improvements to the game not for stuff that should already be included in the purchase price. Worst
than all of that though is the fact that the product was rushed and will no doubt have several patches come out to correct the problems....guess what? No online access means my game will be glitchy for as long as I own it, unless I finally do get online.
The point is that back in the day developers couldn't use 'online manuals', 'DLC', and 'patches' as crutches for their subpar efforts. Granted, the games were more simplistic and there were still many, many bad games, but for the most part when a game was
released it was at least a playable, finished product.

Now on to the gameplay.The bad stuff: this is a rehash of SvR2011. The new reversal system is awful. You can still spam moves like crazy. If you liked the SvR series then this is more of the same. What shocks me is that so many reviewers are touting this
as an entirely new direction and most awesome ever whilst dumping on the SvR series. Honestly, until we are playing on X-box 720s and PS4s there won't be a massive improvement no matter what THQ may say. If a different company got the license maybe they would
innovate a little bit more but I don't think we'll see anything significantly better in this generation of gaming. The good stuff: the SvR series and WWE12 are pretty good games. I have a lot of fun with each year's edition. I did like 2010 better than 2011--that
was one of the few years where I felt they really took a step back in both rehashing almost everything and actually having uglier character models than the previous years, but that's subjective--but every year has been fun. I also like the awesome creation
tools. I'll disagree with the OP on this one because even having all the cool names and create an arena alone makes it one of the best creation suites ever. The remapped buttons are more fun to play with than the 2010-2011 versions for me, again that is subjective.
I like the limb targeting and breaking point submission system much better than the broken/cheating reversal system.

For me I play the Hell out of my wrestling games. I come back again and again, so many match types, such a huge roster and the ability to create just about anybody make the WWE games have that good ol' replayability. In fact, I was just playing the 2009
version about two weeks ago. That's what keeps me from hating on them too much.

Final notes: A few other random thoughts/questions would be: Why only one announce table this year?, Why did a lot of the environmental grapples seem to disappear?( I think certain guys can do them but others can't), Why so few Divas? (the division is crap
now, but it would have been nice to get a few more on the roster that I don't have to pay for.), Why are there still hit detection/clipping/insert glitch here issues that have plagued the series since the Smackdown! days?, Why only three storylines on RTWM?(
I don't mind that they force your hand in who gets to have a RTWM story, and I think it's genius to intertwine the plots, but SvR has given many more storylines in the past three games, shouldn't we have at least an equal number of storylines for the newest
edition?) Why are you still reading this? (you must be totally bored or stuck at work too.)

Dawn of War line of games for next-gen consoles? take my money please!!!

 

Does it have anyone from the original THQ? Or any link to the old dev at all? Interesting.....

 

I don't blame them, have you seen the games Nordic was responsible for making?

 

Good move on their part. Gives them more recognition in a way.
